Fast, great workstation processor
I'm not a gamer and I've heard these CPU do fine with games, but most games won't take advantage of all the ThreadRipper has to offer. However, for an HED system, it's great. My compile and simulation times take only seconds now instead of minutes when I was using an 8 core Ryzen CPU. Even though this is a new CPU with a new socket type, I have not had any issues with drivers on the few boards that support it.

Good processor, price could be lower.
I do enjoy this processor however for the price it would make more sense to buy a “new” Genoa series epyc processor, for about $2000 you can get a 96 core 192 thread 9654. But I bought this specifically for fun and overclocking, I am still fine tuning my cooling solution before I can get into any advanced overclocking but the chip out of the box handles workloads and games well.

My first workstation
I recently purchased the AMD Ryzen™ Threadripper™ 7960X 24-Core, 48-Thread Processor for my second PC build. However, this time it was not just any ordinary build, it was my first workstation build! I paired this powerful processor with an ASUS Pro WS TRX50 motherboard and a Phanteks NV7 case. Let me start off by saying that I am absolutely blown away by the performance of this processor. The 24 cores and 48 threads allow me to handle multiple tasks at once without any lag or slowdown. As a content creator, I run several intensive programs simultaneously and this processor handles it all with ease. Not only does the AMD Ryzen™ Threadripper™ 7960X deliver exceptional performance, but it also runs smoothly and quietly. The temperature management is top-notch, thanks to its efficient cooling system 67c to 75c top. This has been a game-changer for me as my previous builds have always struggled with overheating issues. The compatibility with my ASUS motherboard was flawless and the setup process was straightforward. The Phanteks NV7 case provides ample space for the large cooler required for this processor and the design adds a sleek touch to my workstation setup. Overall, I am extremely satisfied with my purchase of the AMD Ryzen™ Threadripper™ 7960X 24-Core, 48-Thread Processor. It has exceeded all my expectations and has truly elevated my workstation experience. Whether you are a content creator like me or someone in need of high-performance computing, I highly recommend this processor. Thank you AMD for another amazing product!

Possibly Void warrenty with EXPO enabled. Runs HOT so plan on a good heatsink.
Like others state, if you don't know what this CPU exactly is, just get a regular Ryzen. Otherwise, this thing is a nuclear furnace. It runs HOT, but i have mine under a custom water and it keeps the CPU cool and stable. You will also POP that Overclocking FUSE it has when you enable EXPO, possibly voiding warrenty. YMMV. (AMD has said they wont void warranty, but then why did they make it pop the fuse when you just enable EXPO) But you will get that NAG screen.

if you don't know exactly what this is, don't buy it.

Not happy with the CPU stability
Few months after using the CPU started having a problem of random slow down, system crashes all while other builds are perfectly fine

Powerhouse on a "budget"
As a professional game developer (VR and AAA games), plus a maker (CAD), this CPU get the job done faster and gives me some time back for the family. It is really fast, and can handle my full workload without compromise. The cons are obviously price, and support. The price of this part is high, but that is yet to consider the cost of a supporting motherboard and cooler, which really makes it hard to adopt outside of a new custom build. There was a loose pin in the box, but I didn't see any missing on my unit, so while concerning it has worked out fine.
