Excellent device.
Excellent, high quality device. Made a pitch and tilt compass with the help of ChatGPT. Tried older separate accelerometers, gyros, and magnetometer devices and they didn't work nearly as well as this combined board. Part of the reason is the sensor fusion is done in the device. I am impressed with the accuracy and stability. Will be part of a location hold system in a kayak, along with GPS, and existing trolling motor controls. Be very careful to keep the device away from iron and motor cables that will change the reading. This one will be wireless, placed away from the electronics and metal. ESP32c3 super mini with built in OLED serves to read and transmit the data.

It works fine
No issues with the product, but a curiosity: it defaults to address 0x4B instead of 0x4A (which is the default on the chip spec sheet). Tinkering with the ADDR pin I can't get it to change to 0x4A even when I'm grounding it. So you'll need to I2C multiplex if you want to run two.

High-Precision Motion Tracking
The BNO080 Nine Axis Sensor Module delivers exceptional accuracy and performance for motion tracking applications. Its integrated accelerometer, gyroscope, and magnetometer provide precise measurements of orientation, acceleration, and magnetic fields. I've found it to be reliable and easy to integrate into my projects, offering a significant upgrade over less sophisticated sensor modules. Whether you're building a robotics platform, a drone, or any other motion-sensitive project, this sensor module is a top-notch choice.

At first I had several issues with this IMU module. I2C via GPIO on the raspberry was extremely unreliable. I switched over to an STM32 implementation and still had a lot of trouble initializing the device. I found that explicitly using the reset pin on startup helped to get stable connections and uninterrupted readings. Cheaper units like MPU6050 are much easier to get quick readings, but they don't come close to the measurement stability of the BNO08x fusion engine. Now that I know how to deal with the temperamental initialization, I would buy these again for future projects.

I could communicate with the board using i2C but not measurement received. The chip is stucked in bootloader because there is no formware flashed. I tried to request more information from the supplier but no good answer received
