Some features locked behind subscription
Whilst some features are locked behind a subscription (disappointing when the initial outlay is pricey), there’s enough functionality to be good without the subscription. There’s a good range of different sunrises & sunsets to choose from, the light can be used on its own as a reading light or mood lighting. The sound quality is good enough for the standard alarms. Easy to use via the app. Waking up to a light room in the dark winter days really makes a difference to how I feel.

Annoying. Comes with a US plug!
Beware! You have to use an adapter to plug in and power up in the UK. Really annoying! Given the cost of the item I’m amazed it didn’t come with the right plug or an adaptor. Sloppy.

Buyer beware!!!
Minus five star review. This product arrived with a US plug and requires a wifi password and availability of a smartphone app for functionality. Why???

No UK plug
Im astounded that a device sold in the uk doesn’t come with a uk adapter!! How is it supposed to work. Surely a customer shouldn’t have to pay £185 for a clock then have to spend more money for an adapter.

Save your money..
Didn't come with a UK adaptor so had to buy one which was irritating. I loved using this once I got it working as it got me up for 6am pilate classes, and helped me fall asleep to all my different routines. App is a bit weird to navigate but once you get used to it it feels so handy exploring all the different sounds, meditations and alarms. I loved it until it one day just stopped working.. it wouldn't connect with my new apartments wifi and I spent weeks trying to resolve the issue. Never to be used again, it felt like my money for the hatch and yearly subscription went down the drain! I was so upset as this was a huge investment I was so excited for. Had to reinvest in a much cheaper option which doesn't rely on wifi or an app to work (Dreamegg Sunrise 1). Fingers crossed!

Nice clock. Looks good. Has great features for waking up and preparing to sleep. Has good anytime ambience. No complaints on the clock itself. Not a fan of subscription for extra sounds effects etc. although can be used without. The subscription adds to it. For price of the clock I feel the whole app should be included. But it still is worth it to me.

I absolutely love this Hatch Restore 2! It’s more than just an alarm clock — it’s become a part of my daily sleep routine. The sunrise alarm gently wakes me with light that gradually brightens, which makes mornings so much more pleasant compared to a jarring buzzer. It also doubles as a soothing sound machine with relaxing noises and nature sounds that help me fall asleep faster. The design is sleek and modern, and the dimmable display doesn’t disturb sleep at night. I appreciate how customizable everything is via the app — from sleep sounds to light colors and alarm settings. Even without the optional subscription for extra content, the built-in features are excellent. If you want a smart bedside clock that improves both your evenings and mornings, this Hatch Restore 2 is a fantastic pick. Highly recommend!

Don’t let the subscription deter you, this alarm clock is completely usable without it. The monthly subscription is mainly for more sounds and bedtime stories, plus 2 added steps to your sleep/wake routine which are ‘Unwind’ and ‘Morning Moment’. I’d suggest setting up some routines while on the free version, to get the feel of it first; then get the free trial and immediately cancel it, so you don’t get charged but can try it out for a month. If you realize that you like the subscription version more than the free: the monthly price is $5 totaling to $60 a year, and the yearly subscription is $50. The sunrise feature is super customizable, you can have the dim lamp go very bright within 5 minutes or up to an hour. There’s 28 different sleep sounds, 12 sunrises, and 13 alarm sounds to choose from without a subscription. Hatch claims this alarm is science-backed in lulling you to sleep but also waking you up gradually and peacefully. Listening to sleep sounds definitely helps me stay asleep for most of the night; whereas before, I’d wake up numerous times every single night. Also I can for sure say that after having this clock for a few months, not once have I woken up to a jarringly loud alarm and jumped out of bed after realizing I snoozed all of my phone alarms. The biggest issue is that it relies on a constant WiFi/power connection. If a cell tower nearby goes down or there’s no power, you’re stuck without an alarm clock. (Aug. ‘24) I got the Restore 2 in the Putty color, it’s a lighter tan with a hint of pink. The video I included shows the Brown Noise sleep sound and the light color Evening Sun. There are instructions that come with the clock that tell you where to touch for adjusting the volume and light, how the two Rest/Rise buttons at the top work, and how to set up the clock within the app. It took about 10 minutes for my clock to connect and register/update, so don’t be worried if it takes awhile. Not only is this an aesthetic clock, but it’s also a sound machine, an alarm, and a curated sunrise. The ability to have a different alarm schedule is a huge bonus as well, especially if you have a differing morning routine depending on the day. Honestly, the price could definitely be lower ($170), but I believe it’s just about worth it over other options. !!! Update: I’ve had the Restore 2 for a year now (Oct ‘25) and had some sound issues for awhile, so I contacted support. The sleep sound that I rely on every night (brown noise) was cutting out after a few minutes and Hatch’s customer support was super kind and gracious. I was provided a replacement power cord and after the sound issue remained, eventually a replacement clock. Since they stopped making the Restore 2, I was genuinely surprised that I was given a free replacement/upgrade to the Restore 3! The only downside to the new model I noticed is that the Restore 3 is a bit taller and doesn’t have the easy touch options on the face. The light adjustment is now on the right side edge (between the routine and light buttons), the invisible touch sensors are hard to manage. The light button on the right side also only has one setting of a warm white at about 60 brightness (shown in photo with the water bottle), which I think is a bit too bright. Regardless, the Hatch products and their team is amazing, they really care about their customers!!

Good looking clock, has a lot of cool features with the app to help build good sleeping and waking habits. You can choose custom lighting and sounds, metidation routines, etc. Downside is it’s very expensive and you havé to pay 60$/yr for the app additionnal to the clock. Still, I like to wake up to the birds and forest sounds with malibu sunrise lighting..! Enjoy!

I know the Hatch is usually found in nurseries, but as a 26-year-old woman, it’s become the most essential part of my nightstand. The design is clean and minimal, so it actually looks like high-end decor rather than a 'baby' product. My favorite feature is the customizable sleep routine. I have mine set to a red light and ocean waves for an hour. I’ve noticed that the red light really helps my body wind down naturally, and I’m usually asleep long before the 60-minute timer turns the device off. In the morning, it transitions to a pink/purple ombre sunrise light with birds chirping, which is such a gentle way to wake up when it’s still pitch black outside. Setup via Bluetooth was seamless, and while there is a paid Hatch+ subscription for extra sounds, the free version has been more than enough for my needs. You can control everything from your phone or use the physical touch ring on top of the device to turn it off, which gives me that extra incentive to actually sit up and get out of bed. I’ve been using this twice a day since December 2024 and haven't had a single glitch. 11/10 would recommend for anyone looking to improve their sleep hygiene!
