Has an effect on other effects - keeps your sparkle sparkly.
I've been doing a lot of late to improve the sound of my guitars through a pair of pedalboards, shortening cable runs and tarting up the power supplies to isolate the various devices power-wise. The last logical stage was to buffer the signal chain just in case I start using both boards in sequence (I've been quite methodical!). I have Boss pedals that are buffered, but there are situations where they might not get involved in the signal chain because I will still chop & change pedals now and then and may end up without a buffer in the signal path. Enter the Bonafide. It sits there quietly lowering the impedance of my guitar signal, allowing it to slither unhindered through the cable runs where it hits the sparkly pedals at the end of the chain (Strymon Mobius and Timeline) with maximum sparkle still intact. It has improved the fidelity of the signal slightly, and even a little is a positive difference. It's not that expensive even though it seems like rather a lot for something that seems to have no effect, but it can make all your other pedals in the chain sound a lot more expensive, especially if you have long cable runs or many pedals. Worth it!
