This great ratchet wrench is fantastic just to look at. The quality of the metals used and the finish on the metals is superb. The heft and balance is impressive. It looks like it costs ten times the price paid. BUT!!! Be sure to read the fine print at the very bottom of the page where it finally says that this wrench under load requires a constant feed of 24 cubic feet of air at 90 psi! Only really large compressors such as found at an auto body shop or industrial shop can produce 24 SCFM (standard cubic feet per minute) at 90 psi. This requires a minimum ten horse engine or motor and a very large tank. The Ingersol-Rand technical rep I called stated that virtually no homeowner or portable job site compressor can produce the huge amount of air this excellent ratchet wrench requires.

I work in a machine shop, and use this nearly every day at work. Thus far, it's been an excellent tool - It feels heavy and well built, and definitely has a good bit of torque behind it The only con, so far, is that the button (as opposed to the normal level activation) gets a bit fatiguing after using it for a while. If that's not a problem, then I'd definitely recommend this as a daily use tool.

I bought this to remove old oak treads from the steps of my fire tower. An air wrench was difficult to use due to off-axis access. This ratchet fits with just a socket-no extension or universal joint. It does not seem to require an unusual amount of air. A portable compressor works fine. It turns much slower than my pneumatic wrench and is fairly quiet. It is strong enough to remove the heavily-rusted carriage bolts. Only negative is the "made in China." It gets extra points for increased torque--don't think the 50 ft-lb ratchets would be strong enough to remove the rusty nuts.

Cant blame the tool but three stars for not explaining things clearly. To make this tool work, you need at least 20 gallon compressor above 4cfm. This is typically found in Auto repair shops. I have a Makita mac 2400 which is having a 4.2 cfm rating but it only turns this this at a snail pace for only a few seconds. The inger website says you need only above 4cfm. but this is at snail pace rpm. You need between 10-15cfm (max is 20) on load from a compressor to get any efficiency from this tool, which again means HUGE heavy duty giant ass compressor! Although made in china, looks and feels solid and heavy. Makes a big cow like crying sound when this tool works.
