### Product Review: 2017 Nissan Maxima Transmission Dip Stick Replacement I recently undertook the task of replacing the transmission dip stick in my 2017 Nissan Maxima, and I am happy to share my detailed review of this experience. This replacement part proved to be crucial for maintaining my vehicle's performance and ensuring accurate fluid level readings. #### Quality and Fit The replacement transmission dip stick I purchased was an OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) part, which ensured a perfect fit and reliable performance. The build quality of the dip stick was excellent, made from durable materials that resist wear and corrosion. It matched the specifications of the original dip stick, making the installation process straightforward and hassle-free. #### Ease of Installation Installing the new transmission dip stick was a relatively simple task that didn't require specialized tools. Here are the steps I followed: 1. **Locate the Dip Stick Tube**: In the 2017 Nissan Maxima, the transmission dip stick tube is situated towards the back of the engine bay. It was accessible without needing to remove other components. 2. **Remove the Old Dip Stick**: Pulling out the old dip stick was easy. It came out smoothly, without any resistance or complications. 3. **Insert the New Dip Stick**: The new dip stick slid into the tube effortlessly, seating securely in place. The markings on the dip stick were clear, making it easy to read the transmission fluid level. #### Performance After replacing the dip stick, I found it much easier to monitor the transmission fluid levels accurately. The markings on the new dip stick were precise, allowing for a quick and reliable check. This is particularly important for maintaining the proper fluid level, which is crucial for the health of the transmission. I noticed that the new dip stick had a more ergonomic handle, making it easier to grip and maneuver compared to the old one. #### Durability Given that the replacement dip stick was an OEM part, I have confidence in its longevity and durability. The material used is robust and designed to withstand the heat and pressures inside the engine bay. After several months of use, the dip stick shows no signs of wear or damage, indicating that it will likely last for many years. #### Importance of Replacement Replacing the transmission dip stick was essential for a few reasons: - **Accurate Fluid Level Readings**: An old or damaged dip stick can lead to inaccurate readings, which might result in either overfilling or underfilling the transmission fluid. Both situations can cause significant damage to the transmission. - **Ease of Maintenance**: A new dip stick makes routine maintenance more manageable, ensuring that I can check the fluid levels quickly and accurately. - **Prevention of Contaminants**: A proper fitting dip stick helps to prevent contaminants from entering the transmission fluid, maintaining its purity and effectiveness. #### Value for Money The cost of the replacement dip stick was reasonable, especially considering its importance in maintaining the vehicle's performance. It was a small investment that contributes significantly to the longevity and efficiency of the transmission system. #### Conclusion Overall, replacing the transmission dip stick in my 2017 Nissan Maxima was a wise decision that enhanced my ability to maintain the vehicle properly. The new dip stick fits perfectly, is easy to install, and provides accurate readings, making it an invaluable tool for routine vehicle maintenance. I highly recommend this replacement part to other Nissan Maxima owners who need a reliable and high-quality solution for monitoring their transmission fluid levels.

Too short for my car

I’ve had several problems with my Rogue since purchase and I’ve had it up to my ears with mechanics. Closed transmissions are the worst thing they’ve ever thought up of and I was lucky enough to get one with what’s considered the most terrible one created :sob: This tool allowed us to check the fluid level at home and find that it was several quarts low (thanks for doing your job, mechanic!). I strongly recommend you read up on your specific vehicle too find out how much it needs, as adding too much fluid can be just as detrimental to your vehicles system as too little. Add fluid slowly…pause… check level… repeat if necessary. It’s easy to add more, obnoxious to have to drain some back out
