I was first given UKIYO Tokyo Dry as a gift by someone who knows I like to try different craft gins, especially dry ones. I had tried Roku Japanese gin and liked it well enough so was eager to taste this. It makes a very pleasant, refreshing G&T. The Yuzu gives it a citrussy zing which I like in a gin, and it goes well with a wedge of pink grapefruit. I subsequently purchased another bottle - or two (it was on offer) and offered to a discerning friend who loved it. She inevitably used the empty bottle to put fairy lights in which look lovely in the turquoise glass. It is definitely the sort of bottle, like Hills & Harbour you might find hard to throw out.

At £26 for a 700ml bottle (40% ABV), UKIYO Tokyo Dry Japanese Gin offers a refined and elegant take on a classic London dry style. Despite being unflavoured in the traditional sense, the careful balance of 11 botanicals — including five native to Japan — gives it a wonderfully subtle and aromatic profile. The flavour is smooth and crisp, without any harshness. It’s incredibly drinkable and well-suited to those who enjoy a clean, balanced gin that doesn’t overpower. Key botanicals like juniper, yuzu peel, and mikan peel lend citrus brightness, while sakura flower and leaf bring a delicate floral note. Sansho pepper adds a gentle warmth, complemented by more familiar ingredients like cardamom, lemon peel, and rosemary, which round things out beautifully. The presentation is just as impressive — the ombré blue bottle is visually striking with a reassuring weight that adds to the premium feel. It has a screw top lid which feels heavy in itself. I served it the classic way: over ice with tonic, lemon, and lime — and it worked perfectly. The citrus and floral notes came through without being over the top. A sophisticated gin that’s both stylish and smooth — a lovely addition to the shelf.

Strong tasting gin. Wife was happy

This is by far a favourite. Originally ordered as a Christmas gift for an avid gin drinker, but having tasted it its now a regular treat.Quality of the packaging is beautiful, always seems a shame recycling the bottle. The tangy smell hits you on opening, and its a great drink on its own or a part of cocktail. Any time of year, this one is a real treat and great value for money.

I got this as a Christmas present for my mum. I haven’t tried it myself, but both my parents said it was really smooth and had a nice, unique flavour. They seemed genuinely impressed. The bottle design is what stood out to me — it looks high-end and made the gift feel a lot more special. Great choice if you’re looking for something that feels premium without going overboard.

One of our favourite Gins. It’s up there with Roku for sure. We frequently order. Too easy to drink though 😁

Ottimo arrivato perfetto

Unbekannterweise am Black Friday wegen der tollen Flasche gekauft. Nicht viel erwartet, aber definitiv positiv überrascht worden! Die Geschmacksentwicklung ist gigantisch. Es macht Freude, wir sich der Gin-Geschmack vom ersten Nippen übers Schlucken bis hin zum Nachgeschmack komplex verändert. Fast zu schade zum Mischen mit Tonic. Neben Bombay Sapphire nun mein Lieblingsgin.

Ein wahnsinnig toller Gin, passend zum Sommer, nur zu Empfehlen für alle Gin Liebhaber 🥰

Ein guter Gin, den man sehr gut mit einem Indian Tonic mischen kann. Der Alkoholgehalt ist etwas niedriger als bei den meisten und er ist auch Recht "mild" im Geschmack. Die Flasche ist ganz schick. Prinzipiell aber kein außergewöhnlich auffallender Gin und preislich im Mittelfeld.
