I make bread. Only 100 percent whole grain bread. I grind this myself (from a grinder I bought on Amazon) and it makes such a difference in taste and texture. Very easy to grind and yes...bug free:-) The ground texture is like most whole wheat flour...this is just the wheat berries with no chemical alterations. Very healthy and just what I was looking for.

This product is great! I ground it in my Pampered Chef blender and mixed it with bread flower. It made a delicious loaf of bread!

These Palouse Brand hard red spring wheat berries are excellent! They’re 100% non-GMO, glyphosate residue-free, and non-irradiated, which makes me feel good about using them. The quality is fantastic, and they cook up nicely for baking, salads, or grain bowls. Grown in the USA and certified kosher, they’re a top-notch choice for anyone looking for healthy whole grains.

I put 3 Tbs in a wide mouth quart mason jar, soaked overnight, rinsed twice a day, and harvested 3.9 ounces on the fifth day. They clump, I used a pointy chopstick to break up the mass at each rinse, no problem, I’m just not used to needing to do that. Near 100% germination. The jar wasn’t full, next time I’ll start with 1/4 cup for the same duration. Of course I could have harvested when they were short sprouts, and I think I could grow them out further, but as you can see in the pic, they look great!!

We recently invested in a grain mill and wanted to practice with it before investing in Bulk grain. This was the perfect primer three different types and all have amazing flavor and made lovely healthy flour. We only had one issue. The bag of soft white wheat, although a charming lined burlap, burst at the side seem in shipping. The box was clean, taped well too, and I was able to salvage the lost grain from the bag. Looking forward to the loaves of bread coming our way from this lovely grain. Like I said before it is the perfect primer for those starting their new grain milling experience.

The Palouse whole wheat berries are consistently good quality. Fresh, clean and no stones or other debris in the bags. I have ordered several size bags over the years and usually order either hard white wheat or hard red wheat. I typically mill the grain and make a variety of breads--sourdough, yeast doughs and quick breads/biscuits. I will continue to purchase from Palouse.
