Exactly what I needed, not necessarily right for every situation.
Needed this to make sure night meds weren't at risk of overdosing for a loved one with some mild memory care challenges. This med box is great to make sure the meds are dispensed on time and nothing extra gets dosed accidently. The key locking lid is espically nice for making sure the lid doesn't come open except during loading. But it could probably be pried open if someone wanted to. So possibly not a good match if severe behavioral/memory issues are a concern. Monitoring and early doses can be dispensed via Bluetooth but cannot be done at distance, so if you need to monitor remotely this is not the right product for you. There is at least one that looks similar with wifi that might be a better fit (at twice the price, but being able to buy some peace of mind is nice). The alamm is loud enough that it cannot be ignored, so long as the person is within an average sized house without background noise. Any household fan on high can cover the sound, so it is a good idea to have a secondary alarm if hearing issues are a concern. Or if the person spends significant amounts of time away from where this disk is stored. The app is easy to use for anyone comfortable with basic smartphone apps. Not a good idea for people who are not comfortable with learning newer technolgies. Probably not for people who are technophobes or never figured out how to program their DVR. But it is much easier than a VCR so if you were ok with that, you should be ok with this. If you don't have a smartphone I think there is a way to manually set up the clock/alarms but I haven't done it. And then early doses cannot be dispensed either. So you are stuck on the schedule. So be prepared for some limited functionality if you go manual.

Product is great, app needs work
Scoured Amazon for the perfect fail proof pill dispenser so my dad could stay on track with meds for his epileptic dog needing eight pills twice daily. Would be nearly perfect if app was improved. Pill dispenser does exactly what it claims and is user friendly. App has issues connecting via bluetooth to dispenser more times than not. Pics of meds/rx bottles can be uploaded to app to correspond with meds due at specific times. However, when uploading pictures, app will continue to buffer. Multiple attempts made before app would actually upload pic, if it even uploaded at all. App keeps track of daily doses, but does occasionally miss days all together not showing a missed or given dose. As far as the actual dispenser, it alarms at specified times without fail. It is a locked dispenser with an alarm time of 60 min max to remove pills, which was a priority for my situation. The lock on the first dispenser broke within a few weeks. Was replaced quickly. No issues with current dispenser. Needs to improve app for 5 stars.

Stoped working after maybe 4 months after purchased.
I really liked the app and how practical it was, however, it stopped working a few months after I purchased. It doesn’t move on to dispense the next dosage. So you have to manually open the device to get get the meds and it defeats the purpose of having an automatic pill dispenser. I also purchased it for safety reasons as I don’t want children opening it and consuming the medicine. Having it always open Defeats the purpose.
