Don't use 2nd hand dimmer switches
Replaced like for like easy to fit works better than the old one .Well I say old one it was relatively new according to the electrician,but I reckon he put and old one on that had been in situ for a while from another job. Replaced two of these now and all new ones bought of exactly the same make have all lasted longer than the ones the electrician installed in the first place .

dimmer mounting
I have a twin dimmer swtichplate on which one of the dimmer units could no longer be firmly held to the cover plate. The dimmer was fine but the mounting not so. This fixed that without undue issue and works properly.

Easy fit dimmer module

Works fine but buzzes when driving LEDs at mid to high brightness
I bought this to replace an LED dimmer from a well-known brand with a sticking on/off switch. It fitted the old front panel easily. It also seemed to dim the LEDs okay, but unfortunately made an easily audible buzzing noise from mid to high brightness. This is a real shame as the push on/off action is much softer than that on the old switch, so I was optimistic about its lifetime.

Perfect! Direct replacement for a faulty switch - easy to install with common sense and the electricity switched off. V happy 👌

not durable
Installed september 2025, failed suddenly december 2025. Original lasted since 2020. Worked perfectly up to that point. I want an easy life, so will do without dimming in the future.

Didn’t work.
These dimmer switches either work or they don’t. This one didn’t. Buzzed constantly.
