Review: It's easier than you think, and infinitely rewarding - You may ask yourself whether it is really possible to learn to read Armenian in 5 days; and even whether it makes any sense to attempt to do it. I would very much recommend it. The book is very well constructed, you learn the letter not by heart in isolation, but in the context of real Armenian words, which you will encounter at every step in Armenia: food, place and people's names, numbers etc. It will make your stay in Armenia much more enjoyable and will be appreciated a lot by the people. 5 days might be a bit ambitious, as it is important to revise what has been learned. But 10-15 days sound to be entirely realistic. Thomas H Bak Review: A logical way to learn an unknown alphabet - This is a very logical and step by step way to learn an alphabet that previously remained unknown to me. My friends and I challenged ourselves to learn to read Armenian before our trip to Yerevan and this little gem has really helped us all out. Comparing the letters to familiar English, French and German sounds makes it easy to follow along - it says 5 days but the book is split into 10 units, depending on how quick you do the units depends on if you do it in 5 days or not! The only thing I'd like would have been some reading and writing exercises to do, I made some up myself, to help cement the new alphabet in my mind.

A logical way to learn an unknown alphabet
This is a very logical and step by step way to learn an alphabet that previously remained unknown to me. More like 5 weeks, but it's a good book
Unless you are holed up in isolation, you're going to need longer than 5 days to get through this, but it is a solid approach to learning the letters a little bit at a time. I am not done (there are 39 letters, so 78 if you count upper and lower case), but I am making progress. Decent book, quite compact. You'll need a notebook or extra paper to practice.

Excellent introduction to the Armenian language!
A clear and easy guide for those of us unfamiliar with non-Latin alphabets. The author begins by introducing us to the sounds of the letters with appropriate examples and their phonetic sounds. I began by transliteraing the sounds to make simple English words like 'Mama' and 'Papa' before moving on to make actual Armenian words. All the examples were fun and stimulating and I just want to learn more and more. It's a shame that there aren't more Armenian language self-study courses on the market.

Disappointing. Sparse content, and poor paper quality
Feels like a Word Document someone put into a book. I cannot believe it costs as much as it did for essentially printer copy paper with a cover and very little instruction. Please, if you are charging money for it, put some thought into it.

the book itself is nicely presented although it is really only to be used ...
The title is a little misleading but I doubt if anyone would take it literally anyway. Five eight-hour shifts might get the job done but, that aside, the book itself is nicely presented although it is really only to be used as a way of becoming familiar with the Armenian alphabet. Once that's done, you'll really need a proper language course.

Vital for Travellers to Armenia
Excellent clear guide for beginners, but print rather too small for convenient identification of characters which are very similar.

Einfach erklärt, für Einsteiger ohne Kenntnisse geeignet und auch für Fortgeschrittene mit einfachen bis mittleren Kenntnissen zur Wiederholung passend. Shnorhakaloutiun (Danke)

I've been wanting to learn Classical Armenian, for scholarly purposes, but I kept getting stuck trying to learn the alphabet. This book (which I read as an ebook) was really helpful. In just a few days, I made tremendous progress, and now I can actually begin to use some of the other language learning resources I have, which were previously (effectively) inaccessible to me. Thank you, Mr. Hakobyan! The only significant improvement I would request is more exposure to capital letters throughout the book. We get introduced to capital letters along with the lower case letters, but none of the exercises use capital letters until Chapter 10. At that point, I was scrambling, unsuccessfully, to remember them.
