Beware
There are two Telesteps companies. One in the US one in Sweden. This ladder is sold by the US company. The ladder is flimsy compared to the Swedish version, it does not contract simply. When folded up it does not lie flat against the door but is at about a 30 degree angle pointing to the ceiling. The installation instructions are poor. The company did send me additional photos to help with installation. This ladder is not the quality I wanted and is very expensive

This is what is important for the client to know.
I used this product for a small area that a normal ladder would not fit in. This was the only option I had to fit in such a small area. It is important for you to know that the spring that is not fastened appropriately fell out and nearly harmed me and the other person installing this item. I intend to return this item for I find that it is of low quality and poor design. Also to warn the public do your research. Once i attempted to return the item I found out that it is too late I was out of my 30 day window to return. Considering it took about 1 week to get to me it is unfair but this is something a new buyer should consider. I won't loose sleep over $400.00 but someone else might. So if I can help any one that is one person saved from such a loss.

Very Unstable
The overall idea is great, but I expected it to be a little more sturdy. It is very unstable to ascend and descend. Since this is only for occasional use, it will serve the purpose, but the stability should be improved on.

Recommended for DIY replacement.
Easy to install and use, but it still feels like a slightly unstable ladder. I bought it as a replacement for the cheap 20 year old builder's stair I had in my house destroyed by a 300 pound hvac guy. It will have to do. A really good stair installed by someone else would have cost 3-4 times as much.

Installation is an absolute nightmare
The instructions for installation are absolutely brutal and miss many major points. The product doesn’t come with a door at all which is a huge problem. It cost me more in hardware/labor for the door than it did for this product. The ladder works good but wow would I never recommend to anyone. Installation is extremely customized and incredibly dangerous. The spring flew off twice almost hurting me badly.
