This kit contains a very common type of clock movement. It's used in most of the cheaper clocks out there. It's known as a "5168". I was able to fix both of the clocks shown in my photos using this kit. The outdoor clock would stop working about every year or two. I spray-painted hands from this kit yellow to provide better contrast than what I'd had before. The garage clock worked longer after I bought it but started slowing down and keeping the wrong time. I had replaced the movement in the outdoor clock once before, using one of the inexpensive movements I bought here on Amazon but it quit working maybe a year later. After reading reviews on this kit, I realized that I'd been over-tightening the nut that holds the movement onto the clock face every time I tried to fix one of my clocks. Doing that causes premature failure of the movement due to stress on the gears or misalignment. Pros: Movement uses a sweep second hand. Quiet! No more "clicking" resonating on hollow walls. Eight clock movements in the kit. Twelve pairs of hands of different colors and lengths. Three different shaft lengths. Inexpensive! ($15 in 2024) The second hand attaches securely by screwing into the movement shaft. Quick to install - fairly easy to replace a clock's movement in about 15 minutes. Cons: It's a bit difficult to get the hour and minute hands to press onto their respective shafts - the second hand is the easiest to attach. Summary: I may not use one or two of the movements in the kit with the short shaft lengths but the kit was cheap enough that it doesn't matter. I may get a clock one day that can use them. I suspect that many people just throw away clocks that stop working. With a kit like this, just fix it!

Very easy to install as long as you know how to take the clock apart. Excellent fit and good quality. The appearance of these hands is better than the original. The time keeping performance is perfect. There is minimal noise just a very faint hum.

Just what I needed to fix a vintage Pillsbury Doughboy clock given to me by my daughter nearly 30 years ago. Product contained 8 movements (two different shaft lengths) and a bunch of different hands. I installed the one with the shortest shaft and it began running without any issues. Do the other seven movements function? I don't know and I don't care. Well worth the price.

I don't care one bit about the "original" movement in these star clocks (1960's) but these always fit the original and are quiet. Love them and the selection of hands--but and easy enough to keep original hands when necessary--hreat movement. Easy to install

I have bought 3 of these so far. I do acrylic pouring on vinyl records and I thought I would see how I did making some into clocks for Xmas. They are turning out very well. No issues at all with any parts in this kit. They have all worked and nothing was missing. The sizes do vary but the small ones I used on CD's.

I bought these to try to get the hands larger and bolder. Preference was more straight instead of the points etc. they work, just not what I had in mind

Este kit me encantó por varios motivos: 1. El funcionamiento de las cajas es prácticamente perfecto, el ruido es casi imperceptible en contextos normales de uso; solo pegándole el oído a la caja pude escucharlo funcionar, aunque es posible que en las noches si logre escucharse algo, pero para mí no es lo suficiente como para ser molesto; los movimientos del segundero son constantes e imitan la función de relojes más caros. 2. Las manecillas y piezas de reparación se sienten de calidad, además de que tienen un aspecto agradable a la vista. 3. El precio me pareció razonable considerando otras opciones en el mercado y dada la calidad de lo que se recibe. Falta ver cuánto tiempo duran, pero sin lugar a dudas hoy considero que valió la pena la compra; le di nueva vida a muchos relojes que creía inservibles y me ahorré el costo de llevarlos a reparar. Para la mayoría de los relojes de pared serán completamente compatibles, aunque recomiendo medir la caja del reloj que se quiere reparar antes, para elegir el tamaño adecuado. Por último, me hubiera gustado que incluyeran piezas con brillo en la oscuridad con un aspecto más discreto o en su defecto otro par además del que incluyen, para las casas de más de un dormitorio. Producto totalmente recomendable.
