This did not downmix anything from dolby 5.1 or DTS 5.1 to stereo.

The Orei HDA-939 is a fantastic investment for anyone serious about sound. I use it with my Sony A8H TV via eARC, and the extracted audio is outstanding when paired with my Marantz SR-7011 AVR, Harman Kardon PA-2400, Sunfire SDS-12 subwoofer and Usher N-6361 speakers for home theatre. It also integrates beautifully with my HiFi setup of Cyrus Pre, XTZ Edge A2-300, Usher S-520 and Velodyne Wi-Q12 subwoofer ). The result is crystal-clear, powerful, and detailed sound across both systems. Highly recommended if you want to unlock the full audio potential of your built-in eARC TV and non eARC AV amplifiers or even an Integrated Amps. Even YouTube audio is excellent through an Integrated Amp with a Coaxial cable.

Good adapter, works as expected.

This works perfectly. I connect my Roku to this, then this to an APTX latency transmitter via RCA jacks and my stereo receiver via HDMI. All of the audio goes to my 5.1 system and stereo goes to my wireless headset.

Was able to use this device to connect up our AppleTV box, TV and our older in-ceiling speakers. So far, so good. Used another brand twice. The product died after a couple of weeks of use-twice. Just installed this one, hoping it lasts.
