Easy build. Sounds and looks way better than price suggests.
Initial impression (prior to sanding, staining, assembling): well-made, nice weight without being too heavy. There were nom"burs" or rough spots on the neck. The neck was straight with no warp or bend. Overall, I'm impressed. Doesn't appear to be too difficult to assemble. I have been wanting one of these kits foryears. I've been playing bass for 37years, have done instrument repair (dad owned a guitar store), but this is my first build attempt. I will post an update once it's completed. Update: sounds and looks beautiful. Way better than the price suggests. Directions were practically useless as they weren't written by someone with a full grasp of the English language. All in all not a hard build. Already planning my next one. Probably a 5string bass with style and attitude.

Great Jazz bass kit!
For the money it's fantastic. I bought this kit specifically for the body as I already bought a roasted maple neck. But I did play it (acoustically) with the neck it came with and it was quite decent considering this kit (at the time) is $99. I ultimately used my own hardware because I wanted it to be black so I only used the body. I used a hipshot bridge, EMGX pickups, Guyker tuners, and a roasted maple neck I got off eBay for about the price of this kit. The bass plays and looks great. Went with a Danish oil finish and I'm very happy with the result! My only issue with it is the holes for the pickguard are very specific to their pickguard and don't line up with any other pickguards I have tried. Not a big deal I can always fill those holes and re-drill if necessary. For now I just decided to paint it matte black and other than me stupidly scratching the paint before I could put a clear coat on it, it has been perfectly suitable! Other than that, the bridge holes lined up perfectly square with the neck from what I can determine and now I have a great "custom built" jazz bass! Sorry I couldn't review the pickups or controls but I'm guessing they will probably leave a lot to be desired but that's an easy/fun future upgrade for anyone building theirs using the hardware it comes with! Highly recommend it! At least the jazz bass kit as I can't speak on the other variations.

What a hundred dollars buys
Over all besides the miss drilled holes, the cracks in the body, the uneven frets and hardware falling apart, for a hundred bucks delivered, its worthy. I was actually just looking at using the body, but its a blast putting this together. LEO, check your hole placement man, its not right. I will post more pics when I get thru!

Fun and Easy Build
This was really easy to put together. All parts came in good shape and advertised. Sound/tone is fine, especially for the price. Used just two coats of Tru Oil on the neck after some light sanding. Neck is smooth. I spent a little to replace plastic nut with a bone nut. Also upgraded the bridge. Might or might not upgrade the pick ups; again, tone is fine, just a little dull for my taste. I will probably put some better strings on first.

Awesome BASS
Excellent quality I love this bass. My friend is a professional and says it is surprisingly good. I did grind down the pick up a little and soldered the wire for better connection and that helped a lot. Also I set mine on fire before building looks frikin sick af, used a balsamic vinegar instant coffee stain on it as well before poly

No Fender headstock stencil and no instruction manual
Instructions are supposed to be included but are not. Apparently in order to get the book and the Fender headstock stencil I have to return the whole kit. Pretty annoying. Even more annoying is being ignored completely.

Great value
Great value. Purchased for Christmas for my tween son. He loves it and is designing to make it his own.
