I have a "box" that I set up with dowel rods to hold these with yarn wound on them for my tufting projects. Makes change-overs faster and easier. Putting yarn balls on the wooden dowel rods of the dispenser without using a tube caused the yarn to stick to the wood so it wouldn't spin as needed. These tubes are sturdy, durable cardboard - they'll last a long time. They're well balanced and remain standing even when full of yarn. The bottom measures 2 inches in diameter, the top measures 1 inch in diameter, and the tubes are 7 inches tall. These are top quality.

Makes for a much for convenient way to store yarn, if you don't have a winder this is a pain in the behind but its worth your time especially if you go through yarn quickly as it keeps the yarn from getting any knots as youre using the cone.
