Better than a Laptop!!
I needed a sturdy gaming setup when my children started gaming. This system has all the power you need for all the games this family uses and then some. Laptops would usually only last about 3 years. I have had this for a year now and had zero issues.

FUNCTIONALITY
Worst computer I’ve ever had. It started crashing endlessly after 8 months of having it. Please do not buy it, do not waste your money on this. I’ve bought a cheaper computer from best buy that works better and has lasted longer than this garbage.

Decent for the price, heavy and loud
It is pretty decent for the price. It can run most everything on max settings. It’s a lot heavier than I expected. About twice as heavy as my old PC. Fans run loud most of the time but if that bugs you, you can turn off the over clocking in the bios. It also puts off a fair amount of heat so make sure you have plenty of ventilation. Another thing to note is it comes with a weird square antenna for WiFi and Bluetooth. You may be tempted to not hook it up (as I was), but wireless devices will not work reliably without it. They may seem to work fine for a while but will randomly disconnect.

Only had a few days so far but so far I love it. Extremely quiet, you can see the Nvidia RTX graphics card logo through the glass on the left side, small enough to fit into most desk lower shelf compartments for towers. Fast performance, Nvidia RTX 4060 graphics card handles all of my high graphics-intensive games phenomenally and the graphics quality is superb. Great computer for gaming or office.

Bought the Alienware for the graphics to use for photography. So far it's been a great purchase! Fast processor, very quiet, excellent graphics.

I had an Alien desktop years ago and decided to invest in this one. So far it seems quite good as a pre-built. This was the basic model with no frills. At this price range you have to expect there will be some things that will need upgrading. To start with 16 Gb of RAM is rather crappy so expect to up that to 32 Gb. I purchased Corsair Vengeance RGB DDR5 32Gb. The fan for the CPU is probably ok, but is grossly bland looking. I swapped that out for a Cooler Master Hyper 622 at less that a hundred bucks. I'll likely stick with the PSU as it seems like it'll do the job. There aren't a lot of things you can do to upgrade this computer due to Dell's Upgrade limitations on these Alienware's. But really, who's going to waste a ton of money upgrading when you can get a whole new system for around 2 gran when the time comes around again for a new system. But one thing you will need to replace is the pathetic keyboard and mouse that is included. They market this as a gaming systen then throw in the worst KB and M I've even seen. Dell, you need a kick in the backside for this. Bottom line, if you aren't too fussy and are looking for a premade system that'll play most games and are willing to fork over a few more dollars to up a few cheap components as mentioned earlier, then this should suit your needs. If you can get it on sale then go for it, if not then it's a bit on the pricy side.

I’ve been using Alienware PCs for years. I had the X51 a while back (loved it), currently have the Aurora R15 (Ryzen 7 + RTX 4070 Ti and it’s still going strong), so I had high hopes for the Aurora R16. The specs looked solid: ➡️ Intel Core i7-14700F ➡️ 16GB DDR5 RAM ➡️ 512GB SSD + 1TB HDD ➡️ RTX 4060 ➡️ Windows 11 But after just a few days, the system got loud and laggy while gaming. After multiple frustrating calls with Amazon and Dell, I found out the PC had already been used for 4–5 months, even though it was listed as new. ➡️ Had to return it and go through the whole refund process. ➡️ Very disappointing experience from a brand I used to trust. My older Alienware models, including the R15, still perform better than this one. Definitely not what I expected from a “new” machine.
