Zero Stars. This item was delivered on 4/10/25, I used it for the first time on 4/26/25. After 5 minutes in operation, the string retracted into the head, which then cracked, and the unit seized up and could no longer be operated. Though I understand the occasional manufacturer's defect, and have actually had good luck with Homelite trimmers in the past, my dissatisfaction is with Amazon, Homelite and whoever the 3rd party distributor is... I initially contacted Amazon to request a return and replacement of the trimmer. Amazon Customer Service informed me that there were no returns on this product. If that was specified on the order when I placed it, I guess I missed it. I then called Homelite, who told me that they could not help me because Amazon's 3rd party distributor was not an authorized Homelite distributor. They told me to contact the distributor, who was listed as "Sourced Distribution". Two attempts to lodge a complaint with them were subsequently ignored. I can't believe that Amazon does not take more responsibility for their vendors and/or 3rd parties. In retrospect, I should have known something was up, as the box appeared to be opened and then retaped, and the trimmer was manufactured more than 1 year ago. I am out of pocket for $162 and have no recourse with Amazon, Homelite or the distributor, and would have been better protected buying this item at a garage sale or flea market. Apparently, Amazon is now selling some items on a "AS IS" basis.

Great value for the money. Lightweight but powerful and easy to rewind

This weed eater stringer head is absolutely horrible. The string breaks easily. Often only one side. You have to remove the string head completely off to get to the string to retrieve it. To remove it you have to use a screwdriver in awkward positions to remove it. I spend more time removing the head to restring it and have to completely pull out the string to rewind it back on the spool. Very time consuming. I replaced the head with a more user friendly one.

Hard to start for an old lady :)

Is ok but when idles it turns off, go to open and see whats wrpng proabably cleaning needles and idle assembly

Trimmer is hard to start when cold and will not restart after stopping . it will not restart unless it sits for a couple of hours
