Cooling Modcase for ROG Ally, Back Plate Accessories, Heat Management Shell Case Compatible with ROG Ally, Easy Installation Cover with Foldable Kickstand, and Custom Nameplate (Translucent)

This HandheldDIY Modcase is a superb choice if you are modding your Ally for aesthetics and functionality. It comes in stock styled OG white, a super cool retro style translucent purple, and a very nice DIY cyberpunk clear translucent. I went with the clear translucent to fully show off the inside of my device. The kit comes with everything you need to do the installation yourself and the process is straightforward and not hard to accomplish. You get the backplate, screwdriver, extra screws, thermal pad, silicone adapters for your back buttons, and the strap for attaching to the kickstand. There is a great installation video on the HandheldDIY Youtube channel to follow along or you can follow your favorite Techtubers video. It only took about 10 minutes to install the Modcase. Not only does the backplate look great, but it actually improves gaming on the Ally as well! It has an improved vented airflow design with increased intake and exhaust for better cooling and a nice heat spreader built into backplate with an included silicone thermal pad. This reduces the overall temperature of your handheld which leads to better performance, lower fan noise, improved battery life, and overall the Ally is cooler feeling in hand. The foldable kickstand on the back is very handy and is made of a nice aluminum. It can also be used with the included silicon straps to secure a power bank, USB dock or whatever you like to the back of your Ally, which is super convenient. You can also get a custom aluminum nameplate from HandheldDIY to personalize your Modcase even further or add your own stickers, skins or whatever to make it even more personal and unique. I believe this is the best modcase/backplate in the market for the ROG Ally. It is affordable, gives you everything you need in the box, installs easy, and most importantly looks amazing while actually giving tangible performance improvement. I can't recommend the HandheldDIY Modcase enough, and I'll probably be adding the purple to my cart as well so I can switch looks up on occasion. If you are on the fence about this Modcase vs the competitors I advise you to choose HandheldDIY. They really nailed it with the Modcase. Cheers and Happy Gaming!

This product works great. It significantly improved my temperatures and it looks great. It's also very easy to install I tested before and after the swap with a test to run the cpu and gpu at 100%. The fans were set to the lowest allowed settings for both to maximize heat Test before swap: Gpu temp: 86.7 C CPU temp: 87.8 C Test after Swap: Gpu temp: 78 C CPU temp: 79.1 C

Great quality and craftsmanship. A real OEM quality feeling to the plastic material. Lower temperatures for long gaming sessions which is great now that I also have upgraded the battery to q higher capacity and switched to Bazzite. New case screws and a screwdriver is included. The guitar pick was not included with in my package but it wasn’t a issue for me and might have been discontinued. The kickstand is good when you play with a controller and don’t hold the device, the Apple Watch band/strap to mount a power bank was a nice touch but nothing I have used yet. The only cons is that sides could have had more texture for a more better than OEM grip, but then it would have deviated from the original OEM feeling.

It is great, my console runs a lot cooler than before, if looks amazing. Definitely worth the purchase.

**This is an honest review** I bought this back piece mainly because the back piece on the factory case was broken in many places. (The plastic on the ROG ASUS ally is surprisingly weak). I’m so happy I was able to find this on Amazon because it was super easy to install especially with the video provided and my ally is like-new! Without this I wouldn’t had to order a whole new ally. To my positive delight this case has really helped bring the heat down. It actually does what it says it does! Great design, seems high quality, and it comes with any parts you might need. I especially liked the fact that it came with little silicone parts at multiple sizes so that you can make the back buttons work better. Really happy with this purchase and I definitely think it’s worth it.

First off, SUPER FAST on shipping! Ordered and received within 10 hours. Insane. Second, installing it was a BREEZE. Thanks to including legitimately everything you need in order to install this right in the box already, I was able to walk out the door for work and pick this off my porch and take it with me and install it while at my desk at work. I didn’t need anything else from home or anything. Everything you need to install this is included in the box, even a nice screwdriver and all replacement screws! The installation was super easy, I didn’t even need to read or look at any instructions. The thermal paste and metal plate for heat dissipation is a game changer. I have been playing Cyberpunk 2077 on my Ally all day while at work, and when I got home (cuz I couldn’t put my Ally down) WITHOUT going over 60 degrees Celsius! I have been WELL OVER 75 degrees before while playing this game!! I haven’t even mentioned the best part though, the kickstand! Of course, it holds up the Ally very well at a good viewing angle, but it doubles as a battery strap for a portable charger!! I’ve used my Anker 737 with it, and it holds it… but it IS a huge batter bank… so it has trouble staying in the strap a little (leaning too far left or right will cause it to sag a little… just make sure it’s centered) and I’ve literally been able to game for 2+ hours longer thanks to having it mounted to the back of my Ally now. This thing is probably the best purchase outside of a larger/faster SSD upgrade that you can buy for the Ally. Just get it already!! You won’t regret it!

Otima case para o hog ally, chegou antes do previsto, instalação facil sem problemas. Quanto a questão da temperatura no modo 30w está batendo 90 graus, quando é colocado em outro modo a temperatura se mantem ok.

The ModCase comes with all the tools needed for installation and feels very well built with high-quality materials. The temperature drop and performance gains genuinely surprised me. After installing it, I’m seeing at least a 10°C reduction in games like Cyberpunk 2077 and Red Dead Redemption 2. The ROG Ally also feels noticeably cooler, the fans seem to pull in air more easily, and the battery appears to last a bit longer, likely because of the lower temperatures. Across various games, I’m also seeing a consistent 5–10 FPS boost. I contacted ModCase support about an issue with the thermal pad, and they went above and beyond to help. Their support team is extremely responsive and helpful.
