Manhattan SX Freesat HD Box

Brilliant product, easy to set up, even for me great picture and good price, what’s not to like

Easy setup very compact. The remote control is very flimsy . In the very short time I've had it the buttons on it are not working I found it difficult to connect WiFi but product support told me that WiFi connection is not required as the only use for WiFi was for software updates but updates are received over satellite link. Of the hundreds of channels you will receive you can mark some of them as favourites but to get to them requires a couple of menu selections. A single favourite button is not available on the remote

Arrived in good time and exactly as advertised. Easy to load and works great. Usual freeview layout with a great picture.

Easy to install, works just fine. Has a Swap button, which is really handy. The unit is tiny compared with last Humax box. Really happy with this.

Worked straight out of the box. You get everything you need to connect it to your TV. You get the Manhattan Freesat box. Power cable. HDMI cable also you get a scart connection for older tv's also you can use RGB leads that plug straight into your TV. These also plug into the scart adapter if you don't have RGB. But all modern tvs use hdmi. The picture quality is very good to say it's 1080HD. To set the box up you just enter your postcode. And follow the on screen instructions very easy to setup. If you turn the box off using the remote you will see the Manhattan logo. Then you will see please wait this is only because it's downloading the TV guide. You get a TV guide but what I like most about it is if your watching a TV channel but the same channel is available in HD then it asks you would you like to watch it in HD press OK button and it will turn over the channel to HD. Loads of channels to choose from. If you prefer to watch all the channels that are available in HD they are in the higher numbers like BBC HD etc etc. Lots of Christmas movies channels on at the moment it's November 2022. The remote is very easy to use. You get a volume button but that only highers the volume on the box. After that you will need your TV remote to turn the volume up higher. Channel button up and down. TV guide button. And you can enter the TV channel you want to watch by using the TV guide or just the numbers on the remote.

These work great, the software is out of date, but it works, Takes ages to start up. The product itself could probably do with an update too. Never seem to last more than 3 yrs. Tuner normally pops first, won't get signal, I have had at least 3 that have gone this way. You get a load of rubbish with it in the box, analogue leads, scart adapter. Who uses that stuff anymore? There is however an hdmi lead and ac adapter. For a basic set up it is fine, the Freesat on screen guide is good too. Remote is pretty flimsy and genuine replacements are actually insultingly expensive. Considering a few yrs ago I bought one of these freesat boxes for 44.99 and now they are 64.99 they buck the trend of electronic items getting cheaper as they get more out of date.

Excellent device which has greatly improved access to UK TV to our Philips kitchen set in France. Even the sound has improved. It was delivered very promptly.

Plugin and follow the instructions - everything is up and running within 10 minutes. Small, compact and good. Highly recommended to watch UK TV in Europe.
