First up, no dust collection on this machine is an absolute deal breaker. The cut leaves some fine chatter marks that do sand out but they appear where the motor on the machine struggles while passing the board through. I tested a 6" maple board and the finish was okay but would need to be sanded smooth instead of the normal near mirror finish you'd expect from a jointer. The fence is neither straight nor flat which makes it somewhat useless for jointing. Overall there's a bunch of other machines in this price range with 4" dust collection ports and cutter heads that look slightly less pretty but appear to be much more functional than this one. This could be a decent machine with a better motor, better head design, better dust collection, and a better fence. The tables were perfectly aligned from the factory.
