Perfect for small jobs
I do some carpentry as a hobby and this item has been fantastic so far. I have the 4A large battery and I had read in the reviews that it lasts 20 minutes. In fairness, the only time I managed to deplete a full battery was by sanding two full railway sleepers in one go, really working hard on smoothing some areas and carving a few millimeters in some places I needed for a perfect joint. Most of my angle grinder jobs can be completed in less than 20 minutes and I really appreciate the convenience of having no cords or worrying about plugging it. If you need to do a heavier job, a corded one is advisory. I have even considered having one each, but in reality I dont have enough need of larger jobs to justify anything beyond this. It is heavy and sturdy, I have other 18V B&D tools so I can exchange batteries and by far this is the heaviest. I have sanded and carved wood, it was super reliable and I am delighted with it. I have bought a few 125 and 115mm standard discs and they all go perfect. I have both an 4A and an 1.5A B&D batteries. This item and the circular saw are not as strong with an 1.5A battery as with an 4A, even if fully charged. I would not advise intending to use this with an 1.5A battery, not to mention that you wouldnt stretch much longer than 5 minutes out of it.

Handy
Handy addition to the 18v series of tools. I don’t need extensive use and has served me well.

Definitely DIY quality.
Not as much power as it's Makita or De Walt equivalents but then it's a 3rd of the price. Also would need a heavier Ah battery than 1.5 or 2 for any decent length of time use.

Amazing!
Can't go wrong with B&D! Used them for years and have always been my go to brand. And always good value for money! I've had a corded angle grinder for years but finally decided it was time to add a grinder to my cordless collection of tools. And so glad I did. Very easy to use and has a nice trigger action as a pose to the old button lock ones which makes it feel a lot nicer and safer! Only small problem I found is it's very top end heavy. Not a big problem over all but can feel a bit unbalanced when you need to use it in an odd position or if you're up a ladder for whatever reason... because it's typically a bit longer than your average grinder for the added handle with the trigger and guard your hand is further back on the tool. Meaning all the weight that's inside the machine is towards the top. Not a big problem overall. Not worth giving It any less than 5 stars still. But something to consider depending on what you plan to use it for.

Not all Black & Decker 18V batteries are suitable
The motor will draw about 30 A (~550 W) of current at max load, but smaller Black & Decker batteries (such as 1.5Ah BL1518 I had) may be assembled of cells rated only for 15 A max (although this will vary from one batch to another). Such batteries will fit and even start the tool, but may overheat and cut out (temporarily or permanently) while still half-charged -- especially if they are old and if you use the tool aggressively. So you'd do well to make sure your batteries can handle the current (in addition to providing enough capacity); the manual doesn't tell you which specific batteries are suitable (other than the 4 Ah BL4018), nor does it provide the power/current ratings of the tool and batteries.

Works better than I thought
I was a bit reluctant as I read a few reviews saying it wasn’t powerful enough. But a ms another reviewer said, you need to buy the right disc. With a Diamond cut disc I was able to cut 40 mm thick slabs. For DYI and if you already have other B&D batteries it’s perfect

For very light home use
Not strong at all. Also in the description it says that it comes with a grinning disc and There was none in the box.
