A little alum mixed in water is a very handy addition to the medicine box. There is nothing like it to stop bleeding. I accidentally cut my leg and applied a swab saturated in alum water it stopped the bleeding immediately. You can try this test. If you add a drop of blood to the alum mixed water it coagulates immediately. That’s why the bleeding stops. I always keep this handy for emergencies

Dipping the stem ends in alum before placing them in water really helped them stay perky and colorful longer. Such an easy, natural solution that made a big difference. I'm just learning how to use this product to scrub fabric in preparation for dying. Seems A-ok.

The texture of this alum is pretty coarse so I threw it in my coffee grinder to break it down. Then I sifted it through a mesh screen so it would just be the powder as some of it still didn’t break down in that go. Then I mix a rose hip essential oil infused water with the powder to make a paste that I blot into my face with a cotton ball. It would be nice if it came as a finely ground powder upfront. I can feel the tightening on my skin almost immediately after applying the paste and after washing the paste off 15-20 minutes later my skin texture is so smooth and bright. I would’ve given 5 stars except for the coarse texture of this alum.
