Due to considerations of Quick dissolve, affect, price, and lack of flavor, this is my obvious choice. I have tried numerous "Melatonin". Melatonin Plus, or Melatonin supplements can pull me down 24/7. I take Melatonin Quick Dissolve as a natural non addictive/non drug relaxer for sleep. Melatonin's affect wears off within seven hours +/-, which leaves me in control. If I need to arise before then I can function quite well. That is not the case with Melatonin Plus or Supplement. Having tried other brands, this 21st Century brand has no biased flavor to me.

My doctor recommended 10 mg of melatonin, when I was concerned that my menopausal insomnia was causing me to reach more and more often for the Ambien. To my surprise and delight, it worked! I dissolve one of these in my mouth every night after I crawl in bed, and most nights, I can sleep through the night. When I go through patches of 4-5 nights without much sleep, I'll take an Ambien again, but it doesn't happen very often anymore. The only reason I gave this product 4 instead of 5 stars is because of the bottle it comes in. There is way too much bottle for the 120 tablets inside. They could have used a much, much smaller (and far less plastic) bottle. If you look at Amazon's product picture of this bottle, then a brand new bottle has pills barely up to bottom of the big word Melatonin. That means about 2/3 of the bottle is just wasted plastic. You could put 3-4 bottles worth of this product in this way-too-big bottle.

I started to add melatonin to my sleep aid routine several years ago -- namely adding it to diphenhydramine -- or the generic "PM" part of advil pm. This seems to help with sleep in conjunction with that. My issue is not falling asleep but staying asleep. I tend to sleep in 3/4 hour increments and wake up in the middle of the night wide awake and ready to go. I usually read articles on my phone for an hour or so with the brightness turned way down and the blue light filter off. then I take a diph and either one of these pills or a half tab and then I tend to fall asleep shortly I will note that some online articles indicate very little melatonin is required to trigger whatever it does inside the body -- so you may think about breaking this in half. This has minimal taste, if any really, and does dissolve quickly in mouth if not swallowed immediately. As for its effectiveness, I believe it helps, however, it is honestly hard to know for sure. This product versus other melatonin supplements versus melatonin in general. Either way, when I am ready to refill I tend to look for the best value, considering splitting the pills into two as well.

My doctor suggested this brand after others failed. The extended release works the best for my needs. Great sleep without feeling drugged in the morning. Priced higher than what it should be but like all things inflation had an impact. When I first purchased it I got two bottles for that price. Then the second time the price was the same but you only got one bottle. So the quantity was reduced but it did the job of putting me to sleep and staying asleep. I suppose it is a hit or miss for others that have tried it. Remember all meds work differently on each individual. For me it worked and I have tried many many other products. I will be a returning customer.

I have ordered this product several times. It is effective, dissolves fast, cherry flavor, nice. I take it as needed. But, even using a moisture absorbing cotton or pack, they break, crumble, and make powder residue on the bottom of the bottle. I will try another brand next time. Ask your doctor if you may take it.
