- Nebraska Star Beef Angus Brisket Flat, 5 Pound

I usually purchase Omaha Steaks briskets but I am not willing to pay $200 for a 12-15 brisket--$290 if you just purchase it alone at their website. Sometimes you can get them on sale for $99 up to $159 but they have just gotten way too greedy. They were out of them. When they were available again...WHAM!...almost 300 bucks! No flipping way. I have tried to purchase this brisket in the past and, for some reason, they would not deliver to my zip code. This year, I managed to complete the purchase. I appreciate the fact that it is around 5 pounds, which works great for our family of 4. I smoked it low and slow (250 degrees for about 6 hours). It came out perfect--juicy and super tender, great bark. I just wish it would also include the "point" (fatty, super tender portion of the brisket). Still very pleased with the flavor and quality. The leftovers I sliced up for sandwiches. DELICIOUS.

I have made at least 80 briskets over the years using a variety of cooking methods. My briskets have been purchased from local butchers or Costco. This Nebraska Star Beef Angus Brisket Flat 5lb. was the first brisket I have purchased on-line. In the future, I will purchase ALL of my briskets from Nebraska Star Beef. The brisket sent to me arrived within 3 days. It was packed in a styrofoam cooler with dry ice and still frozen upon arrival The brisket was close to 7 lbs in weight and it required minimal trimming. After defrosting it, I used coated it with Sweet Baby Ray's Honey Mustard Dipping Sauce, generously applied my own rub mixture, wrapped it in plastic and put it in the refrigerator overnight. The next day I smoked it in my charcoal grill for 8 hours. To say that it was flavorful and delicious would be an understatement. It was a very high quality piece of meat and worth every penny.

Good flavor but not as versatile as I would like. Good for stew or chili but too tough for fajitas.

I smoke this with just salt, pepper and granulated garlic,best tasting brisket I've done thus far, just a little pricey.

I will not buy this beef again meat very DRY. I have made many beef roast in my 50 years of cooking...sorry I didn’t order from Omaha Steak

This was the perfect size for a family of 3-5. I used it to make Corned beef for St. Patricks day. It was very flavorful, needed only minimal trimming and worked out great. Would recommend.

Estimated delivery was one week. It arrived next day. I normally buy my brisket from a local butcher but they are often too lean. This was a really thick cut with a perfect fat cap. 5 lbs lasted five minutes.

Eve thing about this brisket was amazing. The packing and shipping, the quality, and the price for such a beautiful piece of meat. Will definitely buy though amazon again!
