Fun way to teach kids a breathing technique
This book is a great way to teach kids how to take deep breaths to calm down or get rid of bad thoughts. Beautifully illustrated. My kid picked it up on the first read and we continue to refer to deep breaths as using our "magic breath." Highly recommend.

Great introduction to conscious breathing
I've read this book to preschoolers, 1st graders, and 2nd graders so far (I'm a substitute teacher) and it's been a hit with all of them. Beautiful illustrations and great way to introduce mindful breathing and the magic connection between consciously directing our breath and managing our emotions. Note: it's written like a bedtime book, so revise the last page so the class isn't ready to take a nap at the end of it, lol.

Appropriate for age 4-5
Nice book with nice message, but I purchased it for my seven year old granddaughter and it is a bit too babyish for that age. Would be great for a five year old.

MAGIC!
What did I learn? My breath really is magic. Oh yeah, so is my kids'. Seriously, this is so well written that I can't even think of a bad thing about it except that maybe the part on the last page about bedtime could be left out. We use this for time outs to help with our son's anxiety and at bedtime to help the kids calm down. Or whenever they bring it to me because they really love the way the breathing makes them feel (so do I). I plan to buy a copy for daycare and a copy for preschool and probably a copy for grandma's and one for pretty much everyone I know. The writing is simple and clear enough that my 5 and 3 year olds can understand it, and the concept is unique from other books where kids are actively thinking about their breathing. Instead, they're thinking about happy thoughts and sad thoughts and how to process all the overwhelming feelings kids feel. By the time we got to the page instructing the reader to yawn, we were all already yawning. Love everything about this book!

I bought this book for my grand children so I can read it to them at bed time. They are 6 & 4 and very impressionable. This book is very well written and the kids love doing the breathing exercise and visualization before bed with me as we read and enjoy the colorful illustrations .

Wonderful calming book for grumpy children (or adults!). Nick Ortner books ought to be made compulsory reading! He and his family Jessicca and Alex Ortner have written so much amazing content on 'Tapping'. Schools everywhere are now beginning to latch on to the concept.
