Easy to use for a newbie
I have been thinking about getting a 3d printer for several years now. I finally took the leap and decided to get one. I decided to go the resin route instead of FDM because I eventually want to do some custom parts for scale models. While waiting for it to arrive around some holiday delays, I watched as many YouTube videos as I could to learn ehat to expect. After it arrived and I got it unboxed, I followed the setup directions and added some resin. I ran the test print rook file included and it worked without any issues. Since then I have run several downloaded projects and even created my own project in blender. Most of my prints have been successful. I had a few pieces warp slightly but since they were for me and not to be sold it is not an issue. I'm sure I will need to learn how to adjust exposure times for various situations. I have been using the Elegoo ABS-like resin and have found it to be quite durable. I printed a socket tray and it was a reasonable size that I could try to break it and I didn't put everything into it, but I put enough that I was satisfied that it would hold up to anything reasonable. Besides the rook, I have done one other semi detailed print and I likenthe amount of detail possible with the resin prints. Print speed seems to be reasonable. I had one project that took most of the volume of the bed and near the max depth and estimated total time was less than 5 hours. I say estimated because after 3:30 I noticed on the live view that a delamination seemed to have occurred so I checked it out and it affected all 3 parts being printed. The failure may have happened when I paused to add a little bit of resin because I was concerned that I wouldn't have enough to complete it. I may not have needed that resin afterall but who knows. So far I am enjoying this printer. My main drawbacks are the size, but I knew that going in and there are ways around that. The other drawback I hadn't considered before buying was that I didn't consider the waste and that it could not be recycled like FDM waste can be. There are some ways to use the waste supports in pourable resin or too help in cleaning the vat.

An amazing machine. I'd give it 10 stars if I could.
I would give this machine ten stars if I could. It's my first resin printer. I'd used filament printers for a few years but was new to resin. I did a lot of research before purchasing my printer and decided to go with the Elegoo Mars 5 Ultra because Elegoo looked like a good brand and the tilting tray seemed like a smart thing. I also have been enjoying the auto leveling. It came very nicely packaged and was easy to setup. Starting to print in resin for the first time is very unnerving, but I suspect this is probably the best machine for a beginner. Because I'd done my research, once I got started, it wasn't bad at all. I've been using the machine for about eight months now and have had only one failed print and a couple with minor flaws (the flaws were because I hadn't supported the pieces properly). Going from a filament printer to a resin printer, the print area is a bit small, but you can print very small things with a lot of detail. Removing supports has been easier (at least for me). AND print times are amazing. I've gone from print jobs that took hours and days to jobs that just take as little as an hour to just a few hours. Other than maybe having a larger print size—I can't imagine there's a better resin printer out there. At least not for a manageable price.

Surprisingly good! (Great value for money resin printer)
This is not my first resin printer. This is however one of the best printers I have used. The software is open and I can pick what slicing software I want to use with it. You are not locked down to dated slicing software, freedom in choice is what I wanted. The build plate is not massive but perfect for the size of prints I do. The timelapse feature is handy and the print speed leaves my other resin printers in the dust. I doubt you can get better for the price you pay. The notifications of not enough resin or too much resin is also very handy. The drip tray might look like something you would chuck away, DON'T, you will end up loving it.

Awesome! The best customer service I've had on Amazon. If you buy it, your investment is guaranteed.
Update Reviewed in the United States on December 1, 2024 After communicating my technical issues to the Elegoo team and presenting my case (you can review my first review below for more details), they finally decided to send me the faulty components, including the LCD screen, after exactly one month of exchanging daily messages and emails at dawn (adjusting to Shenzhen China's working hours). Pleasantly, they even took care of all taxes and transportation costs. When the order arrived, they continued advising me on how to install it, and I am assembling everything to finally use the printer correctly. I will update you when I conduct my first printing tests, as I have not yet tested the adhesion with the laser plate, which is scratched and was not replaced by Elegoo at the moment. From what can be seen so far, it is a very good 9k printer from Elegoo, but what impresses me the most about this company, Elegoo, is their customer service and technical support. They are very efficient and should be recognized by everyone. You can check more reviews and realize that this opinion is very common and not just personal. They really strive to make the customer feel satisfied with their purchase investment and loyal to the brand, even with the variety of Elegoo brand resins they sell. I would give them 5 stars, but because of everything that has happened, 4 stars for now. I will keep you informed. First Reviewed in the United States on October 29, 2024: Absolute Garbage Disappointing and Frustrating Amazon CS Experience with Poor Customer Support Honest Review: I am a regular Amazon buyer who makes many verified purchases continuously and until I get a full refund I will not change my opinion about the ELEGOO Mars 4 MSLA Resin 3D Printer which turned out to be a huge disappointment and a piece of junk. Lines appear on the 9K monochrome LCD and objects simply do not stick to the build plate no matter the settings or adhesion times on the first few layers I try. I am very disappointed with this 3D printer because it is clearly a manufacturing defect. Despite setting exposure times of 60 seconds, objects refuse to stick to the entire plate (only in parts, check out the video I made). Also the prints always come out crooked, probably also because of a slightly crooked Z-axis as I leveled and calibrated a sheet of paper a thousand times to make it neither too tight nor too loose and it still prints poorly. Not counting the amount of money I have lost on bottles of resin from the same Elegoo brand that I also bought on Amazon and that I chose with the hardest quality like ABS 3.0 trying to MAKE IT WORK AND STICK. To make matters worse, Amazon customer service refuses to cover the full shipping costs to return it and get a refund. They only say that due to policies they cover a measly $150usd, while returning the printer costs me $350usd. All this by sending them and showing them quotes from three different carriers, that is, they insist and they don't care that I spend an extra $200usd but that I return it so that they can refund me $180usd which is what I paid for the printer. What a lack of common sense, who does that? (This is the reason why I have stopped making new orders on Amazon and have canceled those that were in the shopping cart in process, there is no Guarantee). Please do yourself a favor and avoid this printer with its inadequate support from this Elegoo brand and all of their products and consumables. I hope to do an update soon and let you know what is going on with this case and if this Elegoo company has spoken with Amazon to resolve something. I will keep you posted. In the meantime, save your money and look elsewhere for a 3D printer that actually works. Thank you for taking the time to read this extensive honest review and I hope you will follow my advice.

Love love love this printer
Fantastic entry level resin printer and at an unbeatable price. I have now printed through 3, 1000g bottles of resin and have had very minimal failures, most of which were imo design or support flaws that were easy to correct and printed fantastic once corrected. The setup is insanely quick and the program is super easy to use although I use another program for my supports as is my personal preference. I highly recommend to anyone looking to get into resin printing and the only advice would be to get a better thumb drive, I personally have not had issues with mine that weren't quick fix but every once in awhile I have to unplug and replug in the thumb drive to get it to read on both the pc and printer but that has been 2 out of probably 100 uses. I have stress tested this printer to an insane degree and even gone 20 consecutive prints without cleaning or re-leveling with only one single failure in that 20 where the print detached from the print bed and that was the 20th print. Well done Eligoo this printer is tops.

Good Product, Chitubox Sucks
Print quality is good, very small layer capability. Very impressed with how small figures can be printed. Customer service is good, just don't harass them cuz they're not engineers, they didn't design the 3D printer, they help with issues with the printer is/can be having. Problem is with the manual and the screws that come with the 3D printer. In the manual it says to use Chitubox, but Chitubox(pro, beta, basic) (after being updated) won't/can't save projects/prints as .ctb format which is the file format required to make prints on this product. So I downloaded Lychee Splicer which can save files as .ctb files. Also, watch for print remnants that can stay in the resin, that stopped me from printing for 25 minutes and forcably unevened the top printing plate. The screws have a plastic thing on them that after time becomes stripped and very annoying to get off. To fix that, I bought M4/#4 screws that are 40 mm's (1.578 inches) long along with nuts for those screws to act as spacers and replaced the screws that came with the 3D printer. I used a 9/32 socket on a socket wrench to remove/put back the 40 mm screws into/out of the the resin tank. Otherwise everything else is good. So in short, despite the manual saying to download Chitubox, download Lychee Slicer by Mango 3D if you want to be able to save files into usable files/prints. Also, I would recommend buying M4 screws that are 40 mm's long and nuts for those screws (to act as spacers) to replace the inevitably gonna be stripped screws that come with the 3D printer. So in short in short, before buying this product, for maximum succession (without unexpected stuff), it's recommended to download Lychee Slicer by/from Mango 3D and to buy M4 screws that are 40 mm's long as well as nuts for those screws. And to have a socket wrench with an usable 9/32 sockets for those screws.

Get a scanner too but this is an awesome printer! Very beginner user friendly!!
This 3D Printer is an amazing printer. Its super easy to set up and user friendly. I highly recommend getting this printer for beginners. I am wishing I would have gotten a large printer but I'm more tech savvy than most and picked up on it very fast. Now I want to move on to later items and much larger prints. That's just me but I am happy to keep it and continue using it for smaller prints and projects. Its extremely fast too.

Good and Bad
So mine arrived and the screen did not function. No problem on Amazon, got my money back and more time to think if I want to order one of the new generation printers that are coming out. But, my brother has one, so I'll review it based on my interactions with his. Overall, this thing is great! It prints high-resolution prints, with basically any resin... Basically your run-of-the-mill resin printer. The packaging appeared to have everything you need(minus a bottle of resin) to get up and going. There is a minimal learning curve, unlike FDM printers, these things are ready to print out of the box(or so I thought!) If I don't end up getting something like the new Saturn 4, ill prob reroll the dice and just buy another one of these. It probably just got banged up in shipping.
