Good Quality Walk Shoes
Best shoe for daily walks, fits well. I wear size UK8 in barefoot shoes but Amazon recommended me UK9 in this shoe which fitted perfectly fine. Very good quality with moderate cushioning needed for daily city walks.

Great fit!
I own another pair of Altra's but wanted a pair for just casual wear and these fit the bill perfectly. I do however have two gripes, one being the laces which are a tad short but I remedid that by buying some laces. Gripe two, the running shoes are not black; more dark grey or charcoal. That doesn't matter too much to me but might to others who need a true black running shoes. All in all the shoe for me does exactly what it says on the tin and fits my brief perfectly but I give 4 stars because of the two gripes........hopefully Altra can sort them out in the future.

A Comfortable and Versatile Shoe for Everyday Wear
I recently ordered the Altra Women's Escalante 4 Sneaker. Here's my experience: Fit and Comfort: The Escalante 4 offers a roomy toe box, allowing my toes to spread naturally, which is a significant improvement over other brands I've tried. The engineered knit upper provides a sock-like feel, offering both comfort and flexibility. However, I did notice that the upper could benefit from better ventilation, as it tends to retain heat during warmer days. Performance: With a zero-drop platform, the Escalante 4 promotes a natural running posture. The Altra EGO™ midsole foam delivers a responsive and comfortable ride, making it suitable for various activities, including running, walking, and casual outings. The shoe's lightweight design adds to its versatility. Durability: After several weeks of use, the Escalante 4 has shown minimal signs of wear. The outsole provides adequate grip, and the overall construction feels sturdy. However, I did find that the tongue isn't gusseted, which occasionally causes it to shift during movement. Overall Thoughts: The Altra Women's Escalante 4 Sneaker combines comfort, performance, and style. While it may not be ideal for extremely hot conditions due to its ventilation, it excels in everyday wear and light athletic activities. I highly recommend this shoe to anyone seeking a comfortable and versatile option. Reasonably Priced. 5 Stars ✨ & Recommended. My Star Rating: ★★★★★ | No brainer - Top product. Not only do I like it, but it’s well worth it, IMHO ★★★★☆ | Like it - Great product and value for money. I'm happy with this. ★★★☆☆ | OK - Product is average. Nothing wrong, but I’d probably be looking for a sale ★★☆☆☆ | Hmmm… - Not worth the price, functional but nothing better than mediocre ★☆☆☆☆ | Avoid - Very Poor Quality item not fit for purpose. I wouldn’t buy it at any price.

Favourite trainers for running
These shoes are both comfortable and light, making them ideal for running. I ordered a size 7, and it fits perfectly. I appreciate the wider toe box compared to other brands. Overall, the quality is excellent.

Breathable
Lovely. Nice a light shoes to carry around and put your feet in! I’ve worn them a few times now with this warmer weather and I was happy with the mesh breathable aspect of them. It’s a lovely violet colour too

Decent Performance with Room for Improvement
The Altra Men's Escalante 4 is an average option in the world of running shoes. While there are certain features that stand out, such as the zero-drop design that encourages a natural running posture and the responsive EGO midsole that provides a comfortable ride, there are a few shortcomings that hold it back. The fit is somewhat inconsistent, especially around the midfoot area, which may result in unnecessary friction during longer runs. Additionally, while the updated knit material offers breathability, it can feel less supportive than expected, particularly in lateral movement. Overall, it's a fair choice for casual runners, but avid runners might want something with a bit more stability and enhanced durability.

Gorgeous looking shoes but not wide or deep enough
Such a gorgeous pair of shoes, and I so wish they'd fit my feet! I have another pair of Altra's (lone peak 9+) which are also the 'original' foot shape in the same size, and presumed the fit would be similar, but it's not. The Escalante's are narrower overall including the toe box, which is much shallower.
