Silicone baking mats are a staple in my house. They do need to be replaced every so often and should NEVER be cut (those threads inside are typically fiberglass and not food safe; it’s very rare to damage the silicone to expose them with regular use but if you get threaded mats, just don’t cut them and use plastic or silicone utensils to remove hot foods). There are silicone only ones that specifically say they can be cut. I find these threaded ones are more durable and effective overall though. You can use mild soap to wash them but don’t soak them in soap or you run the risk of tasting it. The oils are not meant to be completely washed off every time but I suggest just getting them in different colors and use one color for sweet or baked goods and one color for savory or cooked foods and just wiping them clean as long as they’re not caked enough to need a wash. It’s the same for if you have a favorite egg pan you use frequently. Wipe it clean but keep it seasoned with the remaining oil and it stays nonstick for a long time to come.

I purchased some of these 6 years ago and they don't last forever. These replacements are made with such quality.
