Good Microphone for the price.
Samson C01U Pro USB Studio Condenser Microphone I purchased this microphone for my solo singing practice. There is no better alternative at this price range, even Blue yeti was not satisfactory for me. However this is. The microphone has a 3.5 mm jack that can be used to attach a headset and hear how the sound feels like. Lookwise good too. Most importantly I have attached a video which shows how easy it is, to operate this microphone. Just plug-in and the drivers will be automatically installed. You can see the response of microphone to sound also. Then the demonstration of voice capture at distance of 7,30,60,100 and 200 cm is given which will help you to analyze the performance and I haven't made any modulation or amplitude change in the voice. Samson C01U Pro comes with a small stand which in my opinion is not that adequate to accommodate the weight of microphone, tilting even slightly can cause microphone to fall, so be caution there. The USB cable is also of decent quality. Please refer to the images for more information. Performance wise you can't really blame it, the microphone include a in-built mechanism for reduction of unwanted noise and it is working perfectly well. I can definitely recommend this product to a friend. Hope it helped.

Decent recording quality but the stock cable comes with it is pretty short for my usecase.
I've needed a microphone for a long time and got this one for doing voice-overs in my videos. I didn't have a huge variety of knowledge when it came to these things. So I hit the internet and found out about this particular one which was said to be the best within this price point. At first impressions, the build-quality felt pretty good and had the weight to it everyone was talking about. Then putting into the real-world test, the recordings it dumped sounded pretty decent (All I do is voice-overs). And after using it for a few days, here's a summary I wanna mention: Pros, (not in particular order) 1. From what I've seen with microphones, this one is pretty good within its price point 2. This thing is through USB-B to USB-A, and is plug-and-play. 3. The frequency response spectrum is good enough and doesn't pick up the high pitch sounds. 4. The all-metal build really feels sturdy. Cons, 1. The cable included is pretty small and wouldn't fit a lot of people's working scenarios, especially the ones who want to use it with a boom arm and long off their audio source ( I had to buy an extra 3m cable to make it fit ) 2. The design, in particular, I'm not really a fan of. 3. The weight could well be someone's difficulty factor. 4. Using this while typing in a loud mechanical keyboard, this picks up a lot of sounds even being mounted high up. Conclusion: If you want to get started with an easy recording setup with spending a reasonable amount of money, this thing might be for you. You won't definitely get the best audio quality (for voice-overs) out of this.

cheap, Good and Its worth it.
I'm writing this riview after a month. Samson C01u usb mic, you've got to be kidding man, Just one word for ya..WOW. At this cheap price range, You've given me exactly what I was expecting of. The voice is just so Damn clear. But as it is simple a USB mic, the voice is a lil bassy kind of but with certain EQ and after I compressed it in a DAW, wow just awesome. I don't know if somebody dislike the product but for me its just worth it at this cheap price range.

Defective product
I purchased it from Bajao. The original packing was already opened. The mic did hardly captured my voice. Recorded volume was too low that I could not hear it without headphone. I tried it on 2 systems with Mic recording volume set to max. but still the recorded sound was too low. Looks like Bajao sent a defective product. I sent it back and purchased Samson Meteor which is a bit cheaper but that worked perfectly well without any hassles. In addition it has a mute button and ability to adjust volume from Mic itself. On the other hand Meteor is more compact so you may keep it close for recording and easily unfold and pack in its box. I have seen very good reviews for CO1U Pro so I assume my piece was defective but it turned out to be good with Meteor being equally good but cheaper.

The Best Single Pattern USB Microphone I Have Ever Used
This is an amazing starter microphone for voice over and vocal. It has good metal construction with a decent weight to it. The stand that comes with it isn't a good way to use it but it's a good thing that they added it. The only con is that it is usb, which means you can only use it on a computer also the fact that the cable that comes with it is a little short. Otherwise this is the best voice over usb microphone that I have ever used. I totally recommend

Entry level
Great entry level microphone. Personally used it for music and i can say the noise floor is quite high but usable. The tone is a bit light but you can always equalize it.

Great sounding mic and very easy to setup. Plug and play. Build quality is great. I would recommend buying a pop filter as well. ***IT COMES WITH A USB WIRE*** don't know why they would sell you the mic without the power wire lol.

After much deliberation looking for a decent USB condenser mic for voice work, I went for this mic. I definitely don't regret it! My use case is using it as a vocal mic for recording podcasts and VoIP (Skype), at my desk at home, with a sprung boom arm, shock mount and pop sheild. The supercardoid pattern does a good job of rejecting sound off of centre. The capsule is very sensitive, and renders vocals with little colouration. In fact if anything it's a bit too sensitive! The gain is controlled via the sound driver on the computer, and I've found it need to be set very low (7-10%) for doing close mic vocal work. One slightly odd thing - if you have the volume set to less than about 5, some slightly weird gating goes under a certain threshold (about -50dB) - mostly not audible but if you're going to compress the recording you might hear bursts of noise. Turn the gain up to 7 or above and that seems to go away (at least, there's consistent background noise instead of weird gate-y background noise). Signal to noise is pretty good, too, and it sounds like the pre-amp is pretty decent, about as good as I would expect for a USB powered in-mic preamp. Unfortunately as it has no XLR output there's not the option to use an external pre and/or mixer, so you're slightly limited there. But really if that's the sort of thing you want to do, you really want to spend a bit more getting a standard condenser and a separate preamp (and/or USB interface). Bass tip up (proximity effect) is quite marked - you get a good boost any closer than about 15cm away. Fantastic for vocals, but if you're looking to record musical instruments you'll need to give it plenty of space to prevent the sound getting muddy (esp. miking the sound hole of an acoustic guitar). The built in windshield is fairly good, but I'm glad I invested in a proper pop shield for close vocal work. The build quality is great - very solid feeling, the bicolour LED indicator is bright enough to see without being blinding (like the fashionable ultra-bright blue LEDs you often see!). The headphone socket is very solid, no fear of breaking it with a tug on the lead. The USB socket feels very solid too - although unlike an XLR it's not locking - so you bear that in mind. The stand which it comes with does feel solid, and the mic does stay steady on it, seems a bit small for the weight - but maybe that's just preference. I'm using this with the shock mount (Samson SP01), which is pretty good quality too. The only slight niggle is that if you want headphones plugged in at the same time as using the shock mount, the headphone jack will interfere with the metalwork - easily solved if you rotate the mic around a little bit in the shock mount, but a bit annoying nonetheless. Also worth mentioning that if you have headphones connected to the mic, they're clearly not going to be isolated by the shock mount so you may need to be a tad careful with the headphone lead to stop it picking up handling noise. What would be nice is a carry case of some sort that fits the mic, USB lead and mini tripod stand - which isn't included. For a low cost mic, it's great value and might be suitable for a home studio or even a professional voiceover booth on a tight budget.
