An inexpensive upgrade to kitchen cabinets.
Big improvement on kitchen cabinets. I have 42" high cabinet doors with three hinges per door. I only needed to replace one hinge per door with the Blum hinges to obtain the soft close effect I sought. They are especially nice on my glass insert doors, no more cringing as a child flings the door shut, expecting the glass to shatter as the door bangs off the cabinet. I have seen a lot of debate on here about whether to replace all two or three hinges. I put two on a door and found it wouldn't close unless I pushed it shut. One in the middle works perfectly. My doors are solid cherry, most about 18" wide. If you have very heavy or wide doors you might need two hinges per door.

I love the soft close feature.
These hinges are awesome. I purchased them for the overused door that opens up to my trashcan in the kitchen. The door was always getting slammed when being used and it was taking its toll on the old hinges, they could no longer keep the door closed. I have installed these hinges in their place. They were pretty much a direct replacement and seem to be made from high quality metal. The soft close feature took some time to get used to, but I don't think I can ever be without it, I find myself accidentally slamming all of my other cabinet doors now. If for some reason you don't like the soft close feature it can be turned off by sliding the little switch located on the inside of the hinge, then it will operate about 95% of a normal hinge with a slight dampening effect right at the end of the swing to avoid a slam. These have been installed for 6 months now with absolutely no issues to report. I am confident these will last a very long time. I will soon purchase more for all of my other cabinets doors.

The head of the screw was so large that it made it difficult to adjust the door position with the fine adjustment screws
One of the two screws for securing the hinge to the door was a complete defect. It had NO treads (see included photo). Also, the screw that was provided that is used to secure the hinged door to the cabinet facing was not the correct screw for this. The head of the screw was so large that it made it difficult to adjust the door position with the fine adjustment screws.

Better than Lowe's
Lowe's replaced their standard Reliabuilt soft-close hinges with a new design that has a kink/fold in the hinge, as a result of which their new hinges are not compatibles with what they sold for the past 10 years. This product is still the old, standard, soft-close model. It works excellently. If you ran into the problem of trying to replace only one hinge and the Lowe's 3/4-overlay doesn't work anymore, try this one!

About as Good as They Get
These are nice hinges. I like the BLUMotion feature. I deducted a star for the cabinet side of the hinge which is kind of loosy-goosy and held by a single screw. The older Blum hinges I used had a design that folded against the cup (door) side of the hinge when closed. As I recall they were more difficult to install. This design folds to a right angle. The setback center for the cup seems to be a secret. It should have been included with the part. I finally had to call Blum to get that very important piece of info. I experimented and ended up using .790" which provided a slightly tighter fit than the 13/16" suggested by the rep at Blum. If you are a first time user I suggest you experiment on scrap. Overall they are a great hinge - I just hope the single screw mount holds up over time. PS. You'll need a Pozi screwdriver to adjust them. Do not use a Phillips head as it will ruin the adjustment screw heads and render them useless.

And I thought sliced bread was the best invention....
I don't know why I waited so long to install these, they are fantastic!!! I can't stand slamming anything, especially doors! These hinges took only minutes to install and are well worth the money. I replaced my existing cabinet hinges with these soft close hinges and what a difference! Highly recommended upgrade to your cabinets. I only put one soft close hinge on every door except for the ones that have 3 hinges. I tried just one on them and they worked okay, but putting 2 work way better. Otherwise just one per door is sufficient. I hope this info is helpful. Get them!! :)

Geniuses at Blum
Blum stuff all over my house, from various hinges to soft-close drawer slides. All my drawers and doors close softly. Those people got all my money, but they deserve it. Great quality, extremely clever, very adjustable. I marvel at the designs. There is even a switch that turns off the soft close action if you have a light little door that doesn't need both hinges to do this. Do predrill all holes, especially the one on the cabinet. You can split the wood if you just drive it in. All Blum hardware requires precise fitting and do get that Blum screwdriver to adjust things. Make sure you measure and drill precisely, square everything up. Don't let the hole for the hinge drift too far from the edge. 1/8" is what you want or the door will rub on the cabinet frame. Of course that is what somebody told me...
