I bought this because I was looking for something to use with my computer while watching TV. I don't have the room for a full size TV or audio setup, so this works perfectly. It's a stylish looking and high quality speaker for the price. Reviews on hifi sites noted thar it performs much better at higher volumes, and I have to agree: when using it with windows it sounds significantly better at volume=47 or above. The sound stage opens up significantly and the mids go from problematically muddy to clear and bright. The only problem with this is that, living in an apartment, you generally want to keep the volume somewhat quiet out of respect for your neighbors. This speaker is intended to fill a room with a small footprint. If you want to use it for things like watching TV, you'll want to use an app that has an equalizer, or to use a system-wide equalizer app to boost the 1khz-10khz ranges. This is especially true if you're using the speaker at lower volumes. With a flat EQ, male voices are often infuriatingly fuzzy and the soundstage sounds like a bog, but an EQ boost does help the voices at least. TL;dr it's a pretty nice speaker for the price.
