Great piece of kit. Makes movies look even better.

Pricey but worth it if you have had an Ambilight tv in the past but not got it anymore. I updated my tv to 4k but didn’t have Ambilight but now I do but you will need Philips bulbs and the bridge which I already had otherwise it’s a costly upgrade.

It’s a Hue Sync box. The cost was good compared to other places although still very costly for what it actually does. I use it with 2x gradient light strips (4m long) horizontal run at ceiling level and 2x light bars mounted on the vertical. I found setup problematic with Denon AVRs if you want to use Music sync. It can be achieved by using the 2nd zone HDMI; but my solution for music from the tablet and using air play was not good. Therefore needed an AppleTv for the music sync and air playing to the appletv and not the dennon. There’s a lot of experiences online with this issue. Otherwise a good bit of kit. Note if using with home automation the 8K box may not have an API out and the 4K is not compatible .

The box itself, when I finally got it working is great. But, it struggled to work on my WiFi, I have many devices on my 2.4ghz network and after hours of deleting, defaulting bridges, having to repair lights, moving the box to another location to prove local interference, I decided to create a new 2.4ghz network on my spare guest network and enabled intranet so the only device on it is my sync box and it worked straight away. I’m sure most will plug it in and it will work, mine wasn’t straight forward.

This is great, if you have invested in hue lights and have the bridge already, this allows you to sync all your lights with your TV inputs. I have always admired Philips TVs that have ambilights build in the back but we have an LG one but now with this box we can experience the same effect with our own brand TV. The box acts as a sync box between your inputs and TV. It reads the HDMI signals and translates this to colours which then sync with your hue light setup. It is very easy to set up, the box is small and discreet and everything can be controlled from the app. The app has lots of preset scenes too and you can customise your setup. Everything also works with Alexa. This newer model supports HDMI 2.1 which means it is future-proof and works with newer devices such as the PlayStation pro which supports up to 8k and 120hz refresh rates. If you want perfect mood lighting to match your viewing then this is the gadget to get.

This product out of the blue just stopped working…..for no reason whatsoever this was about 7/8 weeks after purchase!!! Then not only was I being told I can’t return the product to Amazon. I must contact the third party seller which is Philips Hue however they also just sent me on a complete goose chase, one dead end after another.! I’m sorry however ANY product costing almost £300.should not just breakdown in a matter of weeks Highly disappointing

Llevamos ya unas semanas probándolo y la verdad es que funciona perfectamente. Lástima que sea un producto de precio tan elevado, y además teniendo en cuenta que necesitas comprar a parte el puente y las luces pero la verdad es que se disfruta muchísimo. La experiencia es increíble!!! Hay que tener en cuenta solo funciona con entradas HDMI directas (Sync Box) y no con aplicaciones de Smart TV nativas. Pero en general no hay latencia, los colores son bastante precisos (quizá no tanto con los verdes) y tiene varios modos para regular la intensidad. A través de la app puedes configurar un mando a distancia para utilizarlo con el dispositivo, todo un acierto. Resumen: lo recomiendo, la experiencia lo vale!!!

Oui c'est chère, oui c'est gadget pour certains, mais l'immersion dans les films, jeux vidéo, etc est juste incroyable. Je ne regrette absolument pas d'avoir acheté la sync box.
