Alan ravere books are always worth the money. If you're looking to learn how to fabricate setting, this book won't work for you.

This is the ultimate manual for gemstone setting: no other book seems so precise in the description. Pictures are very clear, many techniques available. Maybe the addition of some technical drawings would expand additional reference, but overall, the best book about it!

This a one of those books you need to get. The thing to know is learn the basics before you move onto this level. The books are detailed and amazing, but I would start with a Jinx Mc Garth and work up to the genius, meticulous Alan. I think if I had started here it may have been too intimidating; however, I love the book and the projects especially since I have a good foundation to work from.

Well written directions with photos or illustrations for procedures, note the directions do not include how to fabricate the metal settings, the focus is on how to work with an existing setting to securely set a stone, information on appropriate, available commercial settings for practice is included; still looking for information on creating kundan settings successfully

As an amateur jeweler enthusiast, it is nice to find a book packed with no nonsense, lots of detail and enough pictures to minimize confusion. Off to by his other books for my library

I have most of Allen Revere books they are all the standard from beginner to intermediate ,to advanced ! They all have good tips and are essential for learning the proper way ! Allen Revere Is one of a kind master. Recommend highly ! 3rd
