I used this pet camera robot for my cat and ended up returning it, but I still think it’s a very fun and clever product for the right situation. The best part is how interactive it is. You can control it from your phone, set different movement routes (like spinning in circles or moving in a snake pattern), and it even has different sounds to get your pet’s attention. My cat was very curious about it, and when it gets knocked over, it can stand itself back up, which is perfect for playful or naughty cats. The video quality is very clear, and the sound is also surprisingly good. You can hear and talk through the app clearly, so it feels like you’re really there with your pet. It’s also a nice option if you want to check in on someone at home, like a partner who is home alone, and say hi or make sure everything is okay. For me personally, I realized that when I’m at home, I don’t really need it, so it wasn’t worth keeping. However, if you travel or are away from home a lot (for example, when I’m back in my home country and want to check on my place and my cat in Canada), this device becomes much more valuable. Overall, it’s a fun, well-designed pet robot, but it makes the most sense if you often need to monitor and interact with your pet remotely.

I know a lot of people buy this to check in on their pets but we didn’t buy this for pets at all—our intention from the start was to use it as a way for our son to stay connected to home. We got it right before Christmas, around the time our 18-year-old left for Air Force tech school. After basic, he was really feeling homesick, and this has honestly been such a meaningful way for him to reconnect. He has the app on his phone, and whenever he needs it, he logs in and “walks” through the house. He’ll roll into his dad’s office, talk with his siblings, and just be part of everyday life again for a little while. It’s been both comforting for him and really special for us. The quality has exceeded expectations. The audio is clear and loud, and the video is sharp and detailed. Movement is smooth and responsive, and while it can move quickly, you can easily adjust the speed in the app. It’s lightweight but feels sturdy. If it bumps into something and tips over, it’s easy to set back upright and keeps going without any problems. I’ve only experienced lag once, and that was due to my own internet issues. The app shows your connection status, which is helpful. Even when ours was listed as “fair,” as you can see in the video I took it still performed well. There are also some fun features like sounds and motion options. Our son likes to randomly play things like cat meows or wolf howls, which has become his way of letting us know he’s logged in. As for pets, we have two and one was curious while the other wanted nothing to do with it. But I can absolutely see how it would work well for checking in on animals. For our family, though, this has been so much more than I expected. It’s given our son a way to come home, even when he’s far away. Sometimes just a few minutes of roaming and talking is all he needs to feel better. This is a purchase I will never regret. And I would honestly recommend it to everyone! I looked at several and was very nervous that the quality wouldn’t be great. But it is, and this sturdy little thing has been a blessing for us.
