If I could give this more than 5 stars, I absolutely would! The TheraICE PROpack gel ice pack is incredible. The gel texture makes all the difference—it’s soft, squishy, and molds perfectly to whatever area I need to treat. Whether I’m using it on my neck, back, knees, or shoulders, it hugs the spot comfortably and provides soothing, even relief. It freezes quickly and stays cold for a long time, but the best part is that it never gets rock-hard like traditional ice packs. Instead, the gel stays flexible, so it’s easy to position and comfortable to keep in place. The design feels high-quality and durable, and I don’t worry about it leaking or breaking like cheaper packs I’ve tried before. Listen, I bought this pad because I am a delicate Victorian child trapped in the body of a 50+year-old with "mysterious back tweaks." I needed something versatile. What I didn't realize is that I was buying a ticket to a sensory identity crisis. ​The Texture: Suspiciously Soft ​Let’s talk about the material. I call it "Stolen Muppet Fur." It is sturdy yet mailable—like a giant, high-quality ravioli that actually cares about my feelings. It’s so soft that when it’s not in use, I catch my cat trying to negotiate a peace treaty with it. I’m pretty sure if I left this pad in a room with a crying toddler, the toddler would stop crying and just start contemplating the mysteries of the universe. ​The Cold: "The Titanic’s Revenge" cooling phase. After a stint in the freezer, I applied it to my neck. Friends, I didn't just "cool down." My internal organs immediately went into hibernation mode. I saw a polar bear in my peripheral vision. I tried to scream, but my vocal cords were frozen in a state of cryogenic excellence. ​The Verdict ​This pad is high-quality, ruggedly built, and softer than a cloud made of marshmallows. It is the only product I own that can make me feel like I’m at a luxury spa and an Arctic survival camp in the same afternoon. ​Pros: * Feels like hugging a very supportive, temperature-controlled marshmallow. ​Excellent for confusing your nervous system.

Absolutely fantastic item for me, and my issues with my neck and back. I broke my spine several years ago, and lost several disks in my back and neck (I had a compression fracture). Since the injury, I also have sciatic issues as well. This Extra Large, comfortable, thick, gel pad covers plenty of area for my big frame. I keep mine in the freezer ready for service. It gets extremely cold and stays effective for at least 20-30 minutes. It might be too intense/cold for some. If you find it too intense coming from the freezer, I’d imagine keeping it in the refrigerator will work just fine too. I recommend trying this several different ways (for neck and/or back area) 1) laying face down and just letting it lay on the sore area. With or without a towel under the pad. 2) laying face up and placing the pad underneath the sore area. With or without a towel under the pad. 3) wearing some type of compression shirt, and sticking the pad underneath the compression shirt. This is all dependent upon your injury or sore area. In any case, I highly recommend this pad. I am a retired athlete and can attest to the importance of icing sore muscles, recovery from workouts, or injury. It’s definitely a high quality item, and a “life-saver” for me.

Why did you pick this product vs others?: These cold backs are a game changer. My wife had purchased the cold pack that goes over your head due to migraines and I was impressed with the quality and just how cold they actually get. They aren't like the gel filled packs that I have used before that are rigid when they come out of the freezer and eventually start leaking the gel. I recently had knee surgery and the hospital did not give me anything to ice, yet told me I had to ice as often as I could. I ordered two of these large TheraICE packs. They are colder than ice when they first come out of the freezer so just be ready. But they come out completely pliable. I was able to take it out of the freezer and wrap it all the way around my knee with no problem. They are soft and very comfortable.

This is the best ice pack , soft and easy to use, excellent for wrapping around something, not stiff.

This is by far one of my favorite ice packs out of the many I have! It's actually extra large, I use it for my shoulders, neck and upper back often with no problem. I love how pliable it is and it stays in place, while staying cold for as long as I need it. I wish it had Velcro straps sometimes, but it's still very much worth the price. I definitely recommend it!

These get super cold and feels great, would be a 5 star but the cold dissipates rather quickly:/
