I bought this to slow down my 12-year-old Llewellin setter who loves to eat way too quickly. The older she gets the faster she seems to eat. Mealtimes are the highlight of her day, and eating fast and her age don't agree so well. Test before review: I used the dish for three days, six meals, before sharing my review. Feedings consisted of a mixture of wet and dry food, mostly dry. Functionality: The spacing and depth of the 'barriers' work well. At first, I thought they would be too shallow, and not slow her down, but the 1" is perfect, any deeper and I believe she would have trouble getting to her food. Final observations: My girl can get to all her food without a problem but is gently challenged to find it all. She has no problem making sure nothing is left behind, it seems like a puzzle for her, and she's content to stay with it until all the food is gone. With this bowl meals time lasts about 10 minutes; compared with a previous open-bowl time of 2-3 minutes. This was the solution I was looking for, and a bonus was it fit the raised feeder I already had. The other bonus is now she doesn't finish before my other dog and go pushing him out of his bowl. Win-win! Highly recommend.

Works to slow down eating. My 3 year old Shepherd mix takes longer to eat her food. The bowl is quieter than stainless steel. The bowl fit into my raised feeder so I didn't have to have a rubber bottom to keep the bowl still. She doesn't try to chew on the bowl but that maybe a problem if a dog is destructive in that way.

I like it.. but my new adoptee likes to put his paws in it, turn it sideways and do all he an to make this NOT a slow feeder. It does its job, but manger it was heavier he wouldn’t do what he will with it. But it does work.. maybe for smaller dogs.

It was the perfect solution to my dog eating to fast and it fit perfectly in the elevated food and water bowl holder.

This bowl helps my puppy not inhale his food but he can still get in the grooves of the bowl to finish eating it all. It’s easy to clean and pretty durable.

This bowl is perfect for my granddoggie. It helps him to slow his eating down. It also fits in the adjustable feeding station.

Our dog is a rescue from a shelter, where she shared a kennel with two larger siblings. From her skeletal build and the way she wolfs food down as quickly as possible, we're pretty sure that she and her larger siblings all shared kibble bowls, and she got whatever was left over. This bowl was just the ticked for slowing her down. We smash her wet food down into the grooves as much as possible, and push some kibble in on top of that. She still does her best to wolf the food down, but it takes her at least 5 minutes to get through it (compared to the 30 seconds it took before we got this bowl).
