5.11 Tactical Men's Performance Short Sleeve Polo, 100% Polyester, Moisture Wicking, Style 71049

Quality short and worth the money.

I purchased 8 pairs of Defender Flex Jeans and 7 Performance Polo shirts by 5.11 mostly fulfilled by Amazon but two of the items were shipped directly from the seller. I received my items on time and the seller reached out to me to ensure my satisfaction. I am very happy to find the Defender Flex jeans listed on Amazon now. The 5.11 website is not clear on the sizing and a little frustrating to wade through the product catalogue. the nearby 5.11 store is across the metro area and only stocks a small selection of the 5.11 product line. I am now blind and have to take uber with my kids so hauling back with a big load of clothes would be a pain. I have been interested in these jeans because everything from 5.11 is designed for an active life for people who work in the Armed Services, Civil Services, Self-Defense and Security Professions I am a life long martial arts student who found it difficult in recent years to keep up my workouts with restrictive clothing and two kids. I ordered my jeans just slightly larger in the waist so they would be a little baggy but I can tell I wouldn't have needed too. They flex well and don't bind my legs. the first thing I did was get down in the floor and move through some yoga postures and the jeans moved just fine, then went into the kitchen and threw some clumsy kicks above the waist and I could kick to chest level without feeling any pulling or restriction from the jeans. This will allow me to jump right in and do drills whenever I suddenly find I have a few moments without looking for workout clothes and loosing the time I had. the Jeans have a single mag pocket on each side of the hip located between the rear pocket and front pocket and in the same position one might wear a mag pouch in. this pocket is not sized for pistol mags as it leaves a lot of room for a single .45 or 9mm mag. It is sized for an AR-15 mag as that fits perfectly, comfortably and securely while standing and sitting. the wearer might be able to fit two .45 mags in the pocket with more security or with a mag pouch slipped into the pocket. One of the pockets will be covered by a hip holster if that is what you wear but placing them on either side allows for right handed or left handed shooters.the performance Polo is made from a semi-stretch fabric that allows for sudden large movements as it was designed to be. The appearance and quality of the shirt is superior to many other polos but at the same price. it's equipped with a pen pocket on the left shoulder for a stylus, pen or pen light, shoulder loops for oh, I forget and a loop at the bottom of the buttons that perfectly and securely holds your body cam. Other polo's don't have these features. the fabric is thick enough and elastic enough that if a hip holster were worn it slips right off the weapon for a sudden clear and present movement but the cut of the shirt is a hip hugger so it will print anything you are wearing there. Otherwise it's. great shirt that looks professional, feels comfortable and doesn't bind your movement...and it's a polo you can put your body cam on with.

Great product quality but the materials used are a bit heavy giving the shirt an overall weighty feel. The sleeves are a bit long and come too far down nearly to my elbow. I’m avg size man 5ft 9in so keep this in mind when sizing.

I needed this for work. It was a lot cheaper on Amazon then at the police gear warehouse. It's soft, comfortable, and doesn't shrink in the wash. I also took longer to get stinky because it is sweat resistant. Bought the 2XL in black. Product arrived quickly and looks as expected. No complaints.I'm 6'2" and 260-lbs, medium build. This shirt wears a tad on the long side; looks best tucked-in versus un-tucked. The back is longer than the front, as expected on shirts that are best tucked-in.Note - the microphone slots on the front chest by the shoulder/neck, and the pen slots on the sleeves, are a bit odd if you're planning to wear this shirt into the office, but as a tactical shirt where you're looking to use a microphone, badge clip, or need a place to stash a pen or small tool, these features are welcome. Be sure to watch the video if you haven't worn 5.11 tactical shirts in the past.

This is a great shirt, if it fits your frame correctly, the fit is smaller than the 5.11 Professional Polo, I usually wear a L to XL in most shirts, (44-46 chest, 5'11" 200lbs, athletic build) but this shirt feels slightly tight at the chest and shoulders. I tried an XL at a retailer after finding the L was a bit tight, but it still had that fitted feel on my shoulders, I have broad shoulders so this may be the reason why. Also, the underarms seem to be cut higher up into the shirt, possibly due to the gusseted sleeves, so if you'll be wearing a short sleeve tee underneath, you may have to go with a sleeveless underneath to not have that underarm discomfort/bunching. The seams at the front of the shoulders also give it an awkward feel, you can feel the pull of the seam as you move your arms around, again, this may be because it is fitted on my chest and shoulders. It's a great material, but if you'll be carrying a concealed firearm, you may want to go with a thicker fabric, this one easily prints on your CCW. I've recently been wearing the Professional Polo, and that one fits better an doesn't print on you CCW. Overall this is an OK shirt if it fits your frame, but first try it out in your normal size and one size up, if you go one size up, you will also add length to the shirt, and these already have a bit more length to them than other polos.

Very nice colour and very comfortable. However, although I really love 5.11 gear, I'm a bit apprehensive about this item. The reason is that it is 100% nylon. Had it been a 35/75 mix it would have been fine for me. I am a lot around camp-fires and bonfires ("controlled burnings") and wearing 100% nylon worries me. I've had one unfortunate experience during a "controlled burning" with a pair of nylon trousers and I don't want to take another risk. I had to give this item away!
