Foul Play

I loved this movie when it came out. Chevy Chase and Goldie Hawn are really good in their parts. The plot was funny and it kept my attention. I bought it because I have not seen it listed on any of the channels I get on DISH.

This 🎥 will make you 😂 your 🧦 off. It's got an all-star cast and has Chevy Chase in his 1st 🎥 role. Barry Manilow sings the title song and the ending song. It's classic and very 🤣 with romance, action, and comedy blended in!!

This review discusses primarily the quality of the new Blu-ray, because clearly many people have already weighed in on the degree to which they like the movie. The Blu-ray picture quality is simply stunning. The picture is extremely sharp throughout, there is virtually no grain (I hate grain in Blu-rays), and everything looks not only very beautiful-- but very natural and perfectly realistic. Colors, especially the fleshtones, and all of the other colors, look absolutely great, and there are a number of outdoor scenes in San Francisco to enjoy, in part due to the wonderful photography and the high quality of this transfer. The picture is free of artifacts and dirt, it's been nicely cleaned up (vs. the DVD, which I also own), and the Mbps are at about 32-38 Mbps throughout-- an extremely high bit-rate, which maximizes the quality of the transfer. This is really the best quality that anybody will ever see for this film. It looks positively brand-new, apart from the fact that new movies today are shot in high-definition, which was not a possibility back in 1978 when this movie was filmed. I'm glad to have this Blu-ray, as is obvious. In fact, the amazing picture quality actually makes me enjoy the movie more, despite the fact that I think Chevy Chase was terrible as an actor in it (his first film) and just not believable as a cop in any way. Fortunately, there is an outstanding supporting cast, many of whom you will recognize (if you were a movie-goer in the 1970s), even if you don't know their names. The biggest names are Goldie Hawn, Burgess Meredith, Dudley Moore, Chevy Chase, and Brian Dennehy. The well known "little person" actor-- Billy Barty-- also Chuck McCann, and Don Calfa (Don always has bit parts), have minor but memorable roles. The English subtitles are completely accurate, and it has subtitles in about five other languages, too. There are no other extras on the disc, but I'm not bothered by that. If you like this movie, I strongly recommend an upgrade to the Blu-ray. Enjoy!

Great movie classic

So Funny! Great characters

This is a classic in my book. Both Chevy and Goldie give terrific performances in this movie. Anyone seeking a movie to entertain and enjoyable for an hour or so of their time, this is the one to chose! I have two copies of this movie because I was worried I would wear just one copy of it out by watching so much! Worth your time and money by all means!

Film sympathique n'ayant pas pris une ride

One of my favourite films, I was thrilled to find it on PAL, region 2, DVD; my old video tape having worn out after many viewings over the years. A very funny, but also quite tense and exciting, comedy thriller with great perfrmances by Chevy Chase and a young Goldie Hawn. However, it is Dudley Moore's hilarious performance as an orchestra conductor that stays in the mind, never failing to make me laugh out loud. If, like me, you are a Chevy Chase fan you must also see this - it has to be one of his best.

Very funny comedy from 1978 starring two great comedy actors in Chevy Chase and Goldie Hawn. Excellent comedy thriller mix with Goldie being chased by some very weird underworld characters and a somewhat baffled detective Chase assigned to investigate. If you are after a good laugh then this one is for you.
