Worthwhile during the sale!
I’d recommend this if you’re (1) a pure matcha lover who wants to taste the matcha itself (water > milk), (2) you have a machine/frother/blender for mixing, and (3) flavor-wise you like umami, fresh, hint of floral more than seaweed, and (4) it’s at sale. For reference, I’ve had most of the introductory level ceremonial grade matcha across Amazon/North America/ China. I had some during Kyoto as well but not a lot. I bought this Heritage version Matcha during a Cyber Sale for $44. I’ve never tried Kiyo, I had purchased some of ippodo or Naoki products in the U.S. I’m comparing it against other matchas I’m available of: Naoki Yame ceremonial grade ($37/100g) and Matcha lab’s 7th ceremonial grade matcha ($17/200g but in China, you can’t beat the price). For this kiyo matcha (the one in the tin), it is hands down the greenest in my stash, though my other have been opened longer (one for ~2 months, one for ~2 weeks) but I stored them all in the fridge to delay oxidation process. Flavor-wise, it tastes super fresh and clean. I’m satisfied (yes, satisfied) that it has none of stale tea-powder note. I love whisker but also I’m rush to commute this year, I hate when my matcha is not completely blended. So a blender and a milk frother comes in handy. While this powder can be a bit more stubborn to fully disperse, once it’s mixed it stays bright, vibrant green for the longest time compared to the others. I would agree that water (something with less favor or aroma) goes the best with it. Milk will cover its flavor, and this one I’ve tried 4 g per 100 mL/2g per 100ml. It is not bitter at all, and it finishes with a really pleasant sweetness after the initial fresh, crisp taste. Tho it raise my energy up if I had 4g, it did it supper smoothly, no jittery or anxious spike. Quality absolutely more than 4 star This is so far the best I have for it taste umami, no bitterness, and bright) Value for money: I didn’t regret it. However, $56 is a bit overpriced.

The best Japanese Matcha
Love this Matcha company . Kiyo matcha is 100% authentic Japanese matcha. I have tried many different kinds of matcha and have to say this company’s matcha is my favorite. From the classic to the heritage -they are all high quality Japanese matcha . Actually the best Japanese Matcha in my opinion. Will continue to buy this matcha brand as long as it is available

Great taste, a few drawbacks, better than Naoki
I had bought this on sale for Black Friday, so I’m not sure if it is not as fresh. The color was not as vibrant green as I saw in other photos, and it was very clumpy, though that could be solved by running it through a fine mesh. I had ordered Naoki matcha, their black white and green versions. And I have to say Kiyo’s heritage blend is better than all the versions in terms of umami flavor, and the lack of bitterness. My favorite matcha experience is at Gokago in Kyoto Sannenzaka, and this matcha reminds me of what I had there. I would consider buying again.

Not good, but not bad, just ok.
I had high hopes for this matcha, but unfortunately, it didn’t meet my expectations. While the color is vibrant and appealing, the texture is quite grainy and difficult to blend, even when using a bamboo whisk. This is the first time I’ve experienced clumpy matcha, despite trying different water temperatures to achieve a smooth consistency. The flavor is also underwhelming—it’s not as bold or robust as I expected, especially compared to the brand’s premium matcha, which I found to be superior in both taste and quality. Overall, this ‘heritage’ matcha fell short, and I would recommend sticking to their premium offering for a better experience.

This is $56?? It's absurd
This is the worst matcha powder I have ever purchased. Every day, I start my morning by whisking matcha powder with hot water to make a matcha latte. I’ve tried many different brands, but this one just doesn’t dissolve! I’ve never experienced such an overwhelming amount of undissolved powder in my mouth before. It simply Does NOT DISSOLVE! On top of that, the flavor is disappointing. It lacks the rich, full matcha aroma, and it’s not creamy at all. I can’t believe I spent $56 on this. PLEASE, Save Your Money. I really wish I could return it, but since it’s already opened, it’s going straight into the trash. I’ll definitely be going back to other matcha powders.

Seller offered a replacement instantly
I cannot believe how good this matcha is, ive tried unkaku and a lot of other tea shops matcha they use like rocky and yamamasa koyamaen. Nutty, fragrance and barely any bitterness, I will now main this matcha and will repurchase. My first batch came a little defective but Can't blame seller. They quickly solved the problem, obviously someone who cared a lot about their products and matcha
