For somebody who finds most gels too "thick", the Aqua one feels more like drink than a gel. It's fruity, gentle on a stomach and, most importantly, boost energy mid-long-run.

I like the way thickness is measured – I gave thickness 5 stars but don’t know if thick is good or bad, but anyway this is a quality energy booster and the taste is great. Not all are. The only issue is price – I thought this particular deal was pretty good but shop around for the best. The real reason I’m writing this review is to counter a claim made by another reviewer who said using these means he doesn’t need to carry water. Well, if he’s running less than 10km then I’m sure you don’t need to carry water anyway, but these are not a fluid substitute. You think they’re a fluid because they’re a gel but your body treats it like food. So these gel energy products are a booster only, never a water substitute. Good luck out there. I’m just putting off going for a run...

Why did you choose this product over others?: My favourite gels, easy to use while running as they are not too thick and are watery enough to be more of a drink than a thick gloop. Have tried many gels and these are the perfect consistency for me!

As someone who often struggles with the texture of gels, these are absolutely perfect. Gone is the horrible thick feeling and all you’re left with is the sensation of drinking something like squash. They’re easy to carry and consume on the go, and very easy on the stomach. Great value for money and I’ve never had any issues with any of their products.

Firstly the flavour is good. Pretty much tastes like berry and easy to drink. There is a category on thickness which I think I might be storing this wrong as I leave this in a cupboard because it’s completely watery rather than a gel. My main problem is my refuelling process is awful so by the time I take any type of energy gel or food I’m usually completely rinsed out and missing the full benefit. I’m giving 5 stars mainly because it taste like berries and was cheap upon purchase. It doesn’t bother me that it is watery as it’s actually easier to consume but maybe it’ll taste better if it was thicker like gel.

Love the runny taste of this. I have had 4 in space of a 2hr bike ride and its kept me going. In terms of the packaging the tear-off strip is just a bit too thick to be able to tear without stopping. You certainly cant do it when running without stopping. It just doesnt tear enough to give confidence youve opened it IMO. I guess its made thicker versus older pack variants (ive used these gels loads in years gone by) to stop the plastic top tab from being just dropped on the floor when out and about (that bit works)... but it could just be thinner on one side to make it easier to consume. Loses 1 star for that.
