Great for weapons safety training/practice with teens!
This is a late christmas gift for my son and I know he is going to absolutely love it. This isnt just another one of those little cheap toy nerf guns, its durable. It ejects the shells and looks like a real gun, that will be fun to experience. Great for teaching a young adult about gun safety and practice. Would definitely buy again!

Perfect for gun safety education
Perfect for kids wanting to learn the functionality of a gun. Our son is we'll knowledge in guns and safety and he still loves this. The bullets can be loaded into the casing and the casings will eject out just like a real gun. We bought a target with a net to catch the orange bullets. Highly recommend.

Terrible.
Where to start? Gave 12 shells, not 24. Half of them broken springs, half of that won't fire. That leaves me with 3 usable shells, which became 2 when the gun shattered one. The magazines, being 8-10 shells tall, can only fit 3 before you either are cramming them in sideways or they start ejecting. MAYBE fires half of the time. It's only redeeming quality is it looks nice as a prop gun, but if it was just a moving prop I would've paid significantly less money for one that doesn't shoot, because it's not like this one does anyways.

Not as Helpful for Gun Safety Training for a Teen as I had Hoped
Like some other reviewers, we picked this up to help teach our son about gun safety without the use of a real weapon. Depending on your intended purpose, this can be a useful tool. Unfortunately, it isn’t quite what we were looking for. While you can teach some of the basics (such as loading a clip, never pointing a gun at others, and engaging the safety whenever you aren’t prepared to fire), the control of this unit is different enough from an ordinary gun that you can’t rely on it to teach proper gun use. With how crazy things are nowadays, maybe it’s a good thing that kids can’t easily obtain a $20 fake gun to practice with… or maybe it’ll just add to the number of kids that accidentally shoot themselves or someone else because they thought they *did* know how to handle a handgun. It’s hard to say, I know I certainly don’t have the answer, but I can definitely see it from both sides. I also agree with what some others were saying about the general safety of this ‘toy.’ This should not be given to any child who isn’t smart and responsible enough to use it carefully. The product description says ages 6+, but I’d counter that with a 9+ with parent discretion unless your kid has grown up hunting/shooting. While the projectile speed is pretty weak, one of these small rubber bullets on the skin at point blank or a round straight to the eye could definitely cause some welts, tears, or even semi-serious injuries. This is NOT a replacement gun for a Nerf battle, this is really only good for target practice. And only with responsible preteens and teens at that. I’m not the safety police, so I’m not going to remove any stars for the potential risks of this weapon. It is up to every parent to research products and monitor how their children use their toys. I will knock one star off the lack of power of this toy, though. The lob required for target practice makes it a bit frustrating when shooting from even a small distance. If we say a typical nonelectric, cock and pull Nerf gun is power 10, then this is probably about a power 5 or 6. Most other things about this handgun are pretty neat. The shells really do eject, which is fun. They aren’t very hard to load, though it can be a bit time-consuming to collect all the pieces back up after firing off both clips. The rubber bullets are easy to lose, which is why they provide so many. The gun action is smooth and easy to use. Overall, with the low price tag, I feel like this is a solid 4-star product. It’s really up to a parent to decide if their kid is responsible enough to handle a toy like this safely. I don’t think it’s a terrible option to teach kids/teens about the importance of gun safety without any risk or exposure to a real firearm, though it does NOT teach them how to properly handle a weapon like this.

Jams Up Constantly
The concept of this gun is great and it looks really cool. The disappointing part is that it does not shoot well. It can shoot one time great, but then it jams up and won't shoot properly the rest of the magazine. This is extremely disappointing for a 12 year old who wants to battle his friends. We will be returning the item.

Lots of fun
Do not rack a round after inserting the magazine. It will go off as the 'bolt' closes. Just put a full magazine in and start blasting.

Missing 6 shells.
I’m giving 3 stars because everything is in order, except that it’s missing 6 shells. It’s a big deal to me because I chose this product specifically because it offered more shells than the other guns I found on Amazon similar to this style. My kid does love it. It shoots well and ejects shells like it’s stopped to. It’s Plastic and lightweight so I do not think it would survive an accidental hard drop or if a toddler found it and threw it down.
