Awesome even in a small shower and 3/4 bathroom
I took a leap of faith on this product because so many reviews said it wont work in a small bathroom. The bathroom in my moms room is a 3/4 bath, toilet, sink and shower and is tiny 6×8 if that. However the toilet sits across from the sink and next to the hall entrance door. There is nothing but the door to her bedroom in front of thr shower entrance. (I drew a crude diagram for a visual) This is what makes the difference. I think people who have a toilet or sink in front of the entrance to the tub or shower are the ones with the "not for small" bathroom problem. So please look at the configuration of your room, thay is what will matter the most. This product is excellent. I have enough room for my mom to take one step from the toilet to the chair, or from her wheel chair in the bedroom to the bathroom, which she can do, then I just slide her into the shower. And even though my shower stall is small I have plenty of room to slide her completely in and not get the floor wet. Being that she is only about 5"3 she still has leg room as well. The control you have to push in is under the seat and between the the persons legs but that is no embarrassment issue for us since I bathe her anyway. I have arthritis and it was easy to assemble and easy to slide. She weighs about 145. Pulled out it blocks her bedroom door but i can push it in when we are done and leave access to that door for the remainder of the day. But that room and the bathroom has two entrances so I can leave it slid out if I choose. It is an excellent product and will be a great assistance to us, she is 93 with dementia.

just what we needed-but measure carefully
I ordered this for my mother, who now needs assistance with bathing, after I had considered many more-expensive benches (all, but this one, with astronomical shipping fees) & finally crossed fingers and ordered this reasonably priced chair - which arrived very quickly and has so far proven to be an excellent choice. WIDTH OF BENCH: Our shower/tub (original 1959, all-in-one style) tapers down to an 18 1/2 inch width at the tub's base. Like most tubs, the sides curve into the base like a bowl. Of course, with such a tub, it's important to measure not at the opening at the top of the tub as it is several inches wider at top than at bottom; and I did not measure from side to side at the bottom either, because the legs will not be resting on the curve. Note where the tub's base becomes level (that is, where the inside-legs will situate themselves once weight is on the bench) to determine if this bench will work for you. (The 18-1/2" width I mentioned was obtained measuring tub's base: from outermost level point left to outermost level point right. If our tub's width at bottom was an inch or so narrower, I think this bench would be too wide. The chair would rest over the lip of the tub; the person bathing would have to spray water on the bathroom floor in order to fully rinse.) FEATURES: -The chair slides smoothly; securely; easily. -The bench does not slip; slide or budge while Mom is bathing. *The chair is steady & secure. After sliding and "clicking" into place, the chair holds fast and steady. *The suction-cups on the outside-of-tub legs hold well yet are also easy to detach by lifting their tabs. -I find the slide-release-button easy enough to access with Mom in the chair. -Mom likes the handle. She feels secure - especially when I slide the chair for her. -The seat is generous in size. My Mom is about 110 lbs.; we've tested the chair using people up to 170 lbs. It operates smoothly and effortlessly. -All water flows off all surfaces; no worry of mildew which forms quickly in our area. -It's light-weight; enough so that I can easily put it into the tub when Mom's done bathing & store it there till next bath. (Therefore, I haven't needed the folding feature so can't comment on that.) -I find it's easy to clean. I'm all around pleased with the performance of this item so far. We've only used it 3 times though. I am looking forward to seeing how it holds up with use and over time, and hope I'll remember to update this review with that information in future!

Great secure shower transfer chair
After a very poor experience with a different shower chair for my son, I ordered this one, since I needed it to have legs with suctions to secure it in the tub. The suctions work very well. This chair seems to be extremely well-made, with safety features that were clearly very carefully implemented, such as the red clip under the chair to make it slide/transfer (it ONLY slides when that clip is pressed, then it securely locks); the red clips to fold up the legs ensure that they only fold when supposed to. I greatly appreciate that this large seat folds up, and it is easy to do so. It is great that you can change the direction that the chair faces in the shower by easily switching the leg tips; as well as the red safety handle can also be changed from side to side. The chair slides/transfers easily and safely. This is a very secure, well-made chair. I highly recommend it.

This was a lifesaver!
So, my mother has m.s and recently fractured her back on top of it...this chair made it sooooo much easier to get her in and out of the shower. It works out perfectly for her, and honestly has been a lifesaver for us. It fits our tub well, and we have a bath fitter. Some thing to point out, and agreeing with others: -The lever to slide the chair is in an AWFUL spot. There is no way for the person showering to slide themselves, which takes away from the privacy, and the person that has to slide them...will inevitably be reaching in an odd location to slide them...the lever really needs to be moved. If you’re using this chair, you’re injured/handicap/elderly...not sure how you would expect one to reach the lever where it currenty is. I took one star off for that. If you’re assisting...it slides with ease. Also, if you’re small (like my mother...95lbs) the seat is HUGE. It’s a good and bad thing. Good, because she can slide on the seat as far over to the side as possible, so the shower curtain/seat being too far over is not an issue. Bad, because she feels like she is going to fall off. Some of that is just nerves; and she is getting more and more use to it. As another reviewer mentioned, I put a hand towel on the seat for better grip. Overall...very grateful for this!

Great enabler to have for elderly with limited mobility to help with moving into bath. Helps us rest at ease about falls as they are supported to get into the bath. Easy to clean and install

Très bonne aide pour personnes aînée et/ou à mobilité réduite pour être plus autonome ou pour aider les personnes aidantes. Très solide, léger et prend peu de place pour le rangement

works great ... just bought it for my parents and they tried it. So far they say it is easy to use. the swivel seat saves space in a smaller bathroom compared to a transfer seat that extends from the tub out into the bathroom. was easy to assemble - no tools needed

Overall, this product is good. My wife can now have a shower. Because our bathroom is small and the toilet is next to the bath, we figured out that we have to have the back of the chair against the hot/cold water controls so my wife is facing the other way. Otherwise, there was not enough room for her to sit down and raise her legs up when she slides across the bath. Second thing was the rubber feet on the side that goes into the bath were about 4 inches in diameter which, because the bath is curved as most batch are, it meant it would not go all the way into the bath, the chair was still protruding over the side of the bath. So, to fix this, i unscrewed the two rubber feet, bought two slip on ones that are a lot smaller from home depot and fitted them. The transfer bench now fits further into the bath and the chair no long sticks out of the edge. Other suggestions to the manufacturer, try making the legs more snug to the slide, they still stick out or make them so they can slide into the frame. A clip in piece of Perspex on the side where the bath is would be great in order to help reduce the amount of water going on the floor, the shower curtain has to be lifted up and pushed around and over the frame. Otherwise, it works great. I would still recommend this product, its light, and the legs fold in for storage.

It is bigger than the normal shower bench but we are managing in a very small bathroom. We don't use the soap holder or seat belts but good to have for those that need them. We like the bench very much.
