Autotek Professional Durable Finish Spray Paint, Matt Lacquer, 500 ml

All too frequently products are wrongly described - another manufacturer's 'matt' lacquer I previously purchased from Amazon was in effect a satin finish and not acrylic but solvent based. This product delivers what is written on the can - a matt acrylic finish and particularly suited to hiding slight blemishes (eg sanding scratch marks on wood) that a satin or gloss finish only highlight. Good product, quick drying.

I carve small figures and shapes from wood as a hobby, some of these items I paint some I stain and polish, the ones I paint, using acrylic, I finish with this clear varnish to give a lustrous finish and for protection. Two or three mist coats is plenty and the colours show through as clear as a bell, no yellowing or dulling of the colours. Terrific stuff and easy to use but make sure you use it in a VERY well ventilated space or outdoors as the vapours are powerful !

I wanted a clear, matt, hard-wearing finish on some aluminium channel. A first couple of coats of white and then two coats of this stuff on top has delivered an excellent finish - even and with high chip resistance on my test piece. I used the product at the lower end of the recommended temperature range, and left 24 hours between coats. How durable it is remains to be seen, it hasn't been on there long enough to judge yet.

Good product, used it to spray sculptures. Easy to use

After using another more expensive lacquer to repair my alloy wheel, which just wouldn't dry shiney I thought I'd give this a try. Ordered and arrived the next day. I submerged the can in warm water before using. On the first coat onto the prepared wheel I got a lovely even coat which is very glossy, and has stayed glossy on drying. This product really stinks though so use it somewhere well ventilated and or wear a mask. But I can live with that for the great results.

Ok let’s start from the beginning, I ordered 3 cans . The first can sprayed brilliantly no problem with a good finish. The second and third cans were a nightmare! The nozzles were loose under the clear cap . I could not get these to fit properly ! I have wasted money and time - not happy. Manufacture needs to sort out the nozzle issue and why they are coming off in transit.

I have used several different types of autotek sprays, from primer to lacquer. All have performed impeccably, and dried in less than an hour at room temperature. Superb product.

The nozzle doesn’t fit tight to the top of the can resulting in spluttering which ruins the finish. Now having to wait 48 hrs to fully harden to see if it will buff out. If not I’ve got to start over and will return for a refund.
