Try this excellent guide! - Author Frank Jenkins understands the problem we all face: despite having an adequate full time job, there are still expenses that just don’t match the income. In this valuable guide he introduces insights into possibilities for correcting that disparity – ‘side hustles,’ explained in detail for incorporating extra money into our financial situations. As he states early on, ‘Over the last decade, the entire concept of what a job is and how you can make money has been transformed. Through the use of apps, internet sites, and web start-ups from all over the globe, lots of people are finding new, exciting, and innovative ways to earn a paycheck…the side hustle has become helpful – and often downright essential – for millions of people…’ Some examples of this lucrative source of ‘added income’ include Uber, DoorDash, teaching online, running an Airbnb, selling online, transcribing, etc. ‘If you type “side hustle” into a search engine, you will find millions of search results…’ Frank does the research for us in this tremendously helpful book, explaining how to become financially secure through many examples of profitable (and enjoyable!) side hustles. Just what we all need! Review: Save your money - Save your money, don't buy this book. While the back of this book states "101 Side Hustles to Make Extra Money is your complete guide to dozens of freelance and independent contractor positions that allow you to work when you want and as often as you'd like.", it's essentially a list of potential ways to make money, and while there are *some* resources mentioned on *some* of them, it's hardly a "complete guide". There's also a typo on page 10, which is funny since "proofreader for content writers and small businesses" is one of the listed jobs. I guess the author didn't have anyone proof this book.

His clear, approachable style makes it easy to trust his advice, whether you’re new to the gig economy or looking to diversify your income. Jenkins’ book shines in its simplicity. It’s not just a list but a well-organized guide that categorizes side hustles based on effort, time commitment, and income potential. This means you can quickly identify what fits best with your schedule and goals, making it easier to get started. While there are no characters per se, the theme of achieving financial independence is something we all understand. In today’s unpredictable job market, the idea of creating a safety net through side hustles is both appealing and practical. One poignant moment in the book is Jenkins’ discussion on how side hustles became a lifeline for many during the COVID-19 pandemic. It’s a reminder of how adaptability can make a real difference in tough times. The book’s biggest strength is its straightforward, actionable advice. However, its brief format means you might need to seek additional resources for more detailed strategies. It’s a great starting point, though! Jenkins’ book made me think deeply about the importance of having multiple income streams. One line that really resonated was, “In today’s world, your financial security is only as strong as your willingness to adapt.” It’s a reminder that staying flexible is key to thriving in the gig economy. Within every adversity lies an inbuilt opportunity. Covid-19 might have confined us to indoors. But it threw up a slew of opportunities, which is very systematically captured in this book. Read and benefit from them. I loved reading the same.
