I did not know that you had to have a special app and pay for the app in order to use this and I did not know that you had to have Wi-Fi. I thought it would work off-line.

Sometimes it translates correctly, and sometimes it doesn't translate what you say.

He's an absolute lifesaver now, well, almost... A good friend of mine brought a refugee couple from Ukraine. They are old and only speak Ukrainian, but no one here speaks Ukrainian. so far! Thanks to translators, conversations can finally take place almost in real time. Just set the language, then press the corresponding microphone button and speak the desired language. It makes my best friend's everyday life a thousand times easier. Narrator isn't always 100% grammatically perfect, but it's much better than Google Translate or similar, and it never changes the meaning of inappropriate remarks. The device can also take a photo to translate (take a picture of the text you want, great for office letters), translate text, it has a study mode and a group chat function. The display is easy to read and the battery life is excellent, as is the internet connection via WLAN. The language translator comes with a plastic case, a charging cable, and easy-to-understand operating instructions in English. We love it so much!

I usually use Google Translate and I'm a bit skeptical about trying a language translation device. A friend told me to try one because she uses one every time she travels. I got this because it has great reviews. The translation was slow at first, until I realized I was in an area with poor cell service. The device left a pleasant impression on me. I tested the device's accuracy with Google Translate and was impressed. I tried Ukrainian, French and German with my foreign friends and I was blown away. Italian is very accurate and they were impressed with how well it translated. Overall, it's a great little tool, much better than some apps. One thing I'm a little worried about is how fast the turns need to be. Initialization took less than 30 seconds, about the same as my initial WiFi setup, time, date, etc. before I started using it. I think it's easy to use for someone not as tech-savvy as me.
