I was doubtful, but it works great. I have long hair and use a lot of hair conditioner. The drain was sluggish. Now it drains well.

Product works as expected. No flowery words, no content creation, just works as expected

The microbial communities that live within our drains are bound to vary from one sink to the next, so I’m reluctant to suggest that this product won’t work for your clog. Unfortunately, the “active culture blend” supposedly contained in the bottle didn’t do much for mine. In fairness, I deliberately deviated from the instructions to pour about a quarter of the bottle down the drain on consecutive nights. I suppose following the directions might have worked (particularly as the product also contains lye [sodium hydroxide], which is the active ingredient in many drain cleaners), but I was primarily interested in inoculating my drain with the crud eating organisms that the product supposedly contains. I poured enough of the drain cleaner down the drain to coat the pipe walls before going to work every day, and repeated the process for a month. The best I can say is that there may have been a slight improvement over a period where I would have expected the clog to worsen. It’s possible that I received a poorly stored bottle that had nothing living it it when it arrived (the bottle says that it should not be exposed to temperatures exceeding 100 degrees Fahrenheit), I may have had better luck following the directions, or the product may work better in other environments. Still, I found it disappointing and won’t be using it again.

Good product

I purchased this cleaner after a lengthy search in local stores and online. I need a septic safe product. Unfortunately, this was difficult to locate, as my searches kept coming up with products to put in the septic tank itself, not my clogged pipes, and nothing local specified septic safe. My issue was compounded by the fact that I needed a drain cleaner to help with a slow drain in my bath tub. Everything sold locally was for full clogs and stated it wouldn't work on slow drains. None were septic safe either. When I finally received my well researched product, I read all of the instructions and used the entire bottle over a four day period. I don't shower daily due to skin issues, so the 1 to 2 treatments of the cleaner were actually able to sit for two days straight in the pipe, twice. The instructions said the drain may not clear immediately and may actually get worse, so I continued the treatments until the bottle was empty to no avail. It never got worse or better and two weeks later, my drain is still clogged, I am out $12 and I now need to research another septic safe cleaner. I wanted to love this since it is environmentally friendly and it actually does smell nice, but, aside from the complete lack of results, I also found the product to be difficult to measure since there is no way to see through the white bottle. Many products are sold with a long, measurement marked window up the side of the bottle so you can actually see the amount of product left and pour it out accordingly. That would be a helpful addition to the package for anyone using this regularly. I just was not about to use one of my food measuring cups on drain cleaner, no matter how good it smelled! I obviously did not get to test if it works to maintain clean drains, since treating my clog used the entire bottle, so I cannot attest to the claims that it helps with maintenance. Two stars for the nice scent only. Didn't work as a drain cleaner for me and I would not recommend. 07/07/2019 - I ordered another item from Amazon as I still needed to clear my drain and this one (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001LRKKPQ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o08_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) cleared it with one treatment. Not as good for the environment, but safe for septic. Maybe Earthworm is good for keeping drains clean, but it definitely doesn't work for clogs.
