This is a reasonably priced orb that also functions as a night light. It was the perfect gift (according to her parents) for our 5 y.o. grand-niece who is interested in astronomy. She has a set of good binoculars she uses to watch the night sky and its planets and stars but this offers her an opportunity to look at it at her liesure. It is small enough to fit on a shelf or bureau and lights up to use as a night when she goes to bed. It has a sturdy base to keep it from falling over and the glass is solid so it isn't much of a breaking hazard. It was reasonablyy enough priced for us to include a book about the night sky for her to read to further her knowledge. I recommend this as a gift for anyone interested in astronomy - young or old! I really like this. It is small but it states the size so I did expect it. I gave 2 as gifts and they enjoyed it as well. I got it on sale. I am not sure I would have paid the regular price for it but I do think it makes a nice gift for a cat lover.

The product is quite small,as measured in the picture. But the detail is very good. The solar system looks accurate and it looks like real stars and such which are really in the universe. I was disappointed you couldn't choose a color of light to stay on. The colors fade into another color and keep rotating. The cord could also be bit longer as well. But all in all,it's a very cool product that impressed my daughter and me and my husband alike. Highly recommended despite the problems.

I gave this to the doctor that saved my husband’s life. In a conversation with the doctor, “he said I don’t have a crystal ball” My response was “I will get one. I bet they have them on Amazon.”. This one has the tree of life, which I think was appropriate for this Doctor. It’s beautiful and the Doctor was so excited he had people take pictures.
