Jesus movie is not biblically accurate, Samson is a bit over the top, as Delilah can't seem to stop licking everything in scenes that have nothing sensual to them at all...

I will watch this two dvd collections over and over. It’s amazing and I learned a lot. Great value.

I only watched the first 10, because I'm into Judaism, not Christianity. The ten I did watch were all mostly accurate, only a few minor historical inaccuracies, like I think they call the pharaoh Rameses, but if you do your research you know the pharaoh was most likely Akhmosen; and the scene where Moses throws down the rod and it turns into a snake, the proper translation would have the rod turn into a Nile crocodile, which has the added symbolism of showing that YHWH is more powerful than the most popular Egyptian god at the time, Sobek. Anyway, the ten films all feel like they were made with the same production value, so it never feels jarring going from one movie to another. I'm not sure why they skip some of the best stories and details only to pad out time with fluff and filler, but it's not too bad. They're all family friendly movies. The only movie I didn't like was Genesis, but it might not be so bad if you know going into it that it's basically just a high production value episode of nature shows like "Earth" or "Wild Kingdom" without the commentary. I really appreciate that the "Old Testament" movies never try to force Jesus or Christianity into them. I prefer this version of "David" over the Richard Gere version, but I prefer "One Night with the King" over this version of "Esther." For the price, you seriously can't beat this collection. I watch one every sabbath (Friday night), it always puts me in a good mood for the weekend and gives me something to look forward to all week.

The price was excellent for this collection. These productions are made with a true to Scripture perspective. The first movie, Genesis, is a little slow as it moves along. Fans of fast paced action will find it hard to stick with, but the format for the story telling is ingenious. The following movies are inspiring. For those who are not readers, these movies offer an opportunity to learn important passages of Scripture. I would highly recommend this collection.

If you read the reviews, they will convince you these are excellent. They accurately portray the scripture without Hollywood edits. To buy the collection is well worth it! I'm a Catholic who has read the Bible going on 33 times, and know the Bible well. I founded a library in my church, and have also gotten very good response from those who have seen them. Some even checked them out more than once, to see them again!

I need to talk to someone as not one of the DVD's on the Bible Stories collection can play on our DVD player. I had 3 other DVD's and no problems they are all playing on our DVD. please see the message on the screen as it need a regional code. is this not for Australia. can you please advise the next step. Es un buena colección de 12 historias de personajes de la Biblia. Los 12 discos vienen hablados y con subtitulos en inglés. Pero solo 6 discos vienen hablados en español: Abraham, Jacob, José, Moises, Sansón, y David. Y los otros seis discos: Genesis, Salomón, Jeremías, Esther, Jesús y Pablo; solo vienen hablados y con subtítulos en el idioma inglés; es aquí donde les fallo a los realizadores. La calidad de la imágen de cada película es excelente. Respecto al envió y a la entrega Amazon lo hizo antes de tiempo, y el paquete llegó en buenas condiciones.

I was very impressed with this high quality and very entertaining movie collection. Featuring a fine cast of British, American, Italian and German actors, some of whom are very well known, it can boast of having some of the most lavish and sumptuous costumes and sets ever seen on film. The series was filmed by Italian Television in Morocoo and produced and released by Ted Turner, all of whom did an excellent job. It includes the movie JESUS, a feminist retelling that focuses on the women in Jesus' life. Of course, the quality may vary from film to film, but is usua;lly top notch. Only GENESIS is a bit weak and low budget, like a documentary. A highly recommended series overall.
