Reliable and Handy!
This mini Maglite is compact, sturdy, and bright enough for everyday use. Perfect for keeping in a drawer, glove box, or emergency kit. The build quality is solid and it feels durable. Great little flashlight!

More Maglites, please!
I have a flashlight problem, but the Mini Maglite isn't it. I just have way too many flashlights because I like always having one close at hand. My husband also loves flashlights, which means we have too many twice-over, but on the bright side, it also means we can't judge each other for our addiction. Maglites are nifty. They're tough and they feel great in the hand. They put out a lot of light, and you can adjust the beam's width. The twist-on switch means it'll never turn on by accident by being bumped and leave you with dead batteries. They include a spare bulb in the tail cap. You can twist the top all the way off, then set it wide end down and use it as a stand for the flashlight in "candle mode". I usually buy the holster pack. I don't always walk around with a flashlight on my belt, but when I need to, I have that option. It holds the flashlight snugly enough that it won't fall out, so it doesn't need a flap and you can access it quickly with one hand. The holster is pretty rugged and only starts to fray after years of use. My only complaint about these is that they're not as bright as the newer LED versions. It wouldn't be hard to convince me to buy some new Maglites, but the LED versions don't come in purple. But then, these are plenty bright enough, so maybe it's for the best that they're not giving me too easy an excuse to upgrade.

Maglite is the only flashlight brand I buy
I love this travel sized flashlight! It's the perfect size to keep in your glove box, purse, or take it camping. Cell phone flash lights aren't always appropriate. The battery compartment also has a spare light bulb nested in the cap! The flashlight itself is made from durable metal, much better than cheap plastic. The light beam is also adjustable from a directed beam to a more diffuse light that illuminates a larger area. You can also remove the cover over the bulb, and the flashlight works like a flameless candle, lighting up a whole room, car interior, or tent. Maglites last decades, they are a reliable made in the USA brand, still made in the USA. Great purchase! Definitely recommend having one on hand for emergencies!

Most Reliable Flashlight Ever
I've been using incandescent mini maglites for decades. I've probably purchased 20 of them and store them in my flight bag, in my aircrafts for night flight, in my hiking, skiing, backpacking, kayaking backpacks, etc. They fit perfectly in my hand or can be held in your mouth hands free, but aren't so small that you are more likely to lose them like AAA variety. They are very light weight. They can be operated even with bulky gloves on. There are zero integrated circuits to ever fail and only a couple of o-rings that are easily replaceable but I've never needed to do it. I've never crushed one or had it break from being dropped. I've never had one fail due to moisture. The primary failure mode is using normal alkaline batteries which leak and swell and then corrode the inside. The second mode, which has only happened half a dozen times or so is bulb failure and certainly changing the bulb worked, but is a bit fiddly and you could lose the bulb. The third mode has only happened maybe once or twice to me was battery exhaustion but was addressed with spare batteries or backup flashlights. So my guidance for the most reliable flashlight I've ever found are twofold: Use lithium AAs as they have a shelf life of at least a decade, have never leaked and corroded my equipment, and are lighter than normal Alkalines. I even use 9 or 12 of them with special D adapters inside a 3 or 4 D cell maglite for cars and trucks and such where space and weight are less of a concern. Use a roughly 2" wide piece of painters tape or some such to go once around the barrel to keep the flashlight from turning on inside a pack or pocket and draining (this is easily removed when it's time to use it, can be stored on the handle or elsewhere and placed back when done or replaced after a trip). In ultra critical situations like night flight, carry extra batteries and/or duplicate flashlights. I have designed elastic loops on my flight kneeboard to hold the flashlight in a known convenient place and the smooth tubular design makes it easy to slide the flashlight into the loop. I've also used them with headbands which work similarly for hands free operation, but I seldom do that since I prefer to turn them on and off frequently or maneuver the flashlight to places my head is not. There are better headlamp solutions.

For $6.36 it's hard to go wrong.
Classic Maglites. I know some people will ding these because they are not as bright as LED versions-when they bought an incandescent penlight in the first place. These are as bright as any small flashlight using Xenon tech gets. As much as I am a Mag-fan, I must mention that unlike any other flashlights I have ever owned, I have had TWO of these over the years where the battery furthest in swells and is impossible for me to remove it. Anyhoo, I needed a new bulb for an old 2-AA pen light. For the above price it made sense to just use the extra battery that comes with all Maglights and have TWO Maglite pen lights for maybe a Dollar or so more than the 2-pack of bulbs would cost while waiting for a deal on Xenon replacements. Bonus round: This kit came with a lanyard, a pocket pen clip and three colored lenses, none of which I have never had a use for, but setting the lenses aside in a small plastic case, just in case, I am using the Hexagonal rubber auxiliary lens holder on the light end to prevent this from rolling. Gotta say that mini bulbs like these -not Maglite in particular, but for autos or whatever always seem to be proportionately stupid expensive across the board. Yeah, there are better, more modern tech flashlights and not merely referring to LEDs, but the old school, old trusty standards have their own functional appeal.

Although not as powerful as some modern torches, this decades old design will survive the apocalypse. Very useful accessories too.

The color is fantastic and the build is legendary as with all maglites, however this is the incandescent version and is not anywhere near as bright as the LED version ( add $25 to the price for the LED version ). I find that for most things like working behind TV's or on soundboards and etc you can't go wrong. I know everyone's cell has a flashlight app on it but it drains your cell life quickly so if you need a flashlight for things like looking around your entertainment center or finding something in the back of a tool box or vehicle, or even looking under the hood / vehicle then you can't go wrong. They are tough, work well, last for ever ( I still have my first one from 20+ years ago ) feel good in your hand AND inexpensive compared to the LED lights. AA batteries are not very expensive and are used all around your house now. If you don't need to light up a football stadium or see for miles then this light works great. Sometimes the LED lights are way too bright for stage and sound work or when you don't want to light up the whole theater but just the area you are working in. They throw the light plenty far for every day use!

There is 5 star straight away for the built quality. So, I got this torch, thinking it's gonna be super cool. But turns out, it's kinda old-school with a twist to turn it on. The light it gives, not so great. There's this dark spot in the middle, even when I try to make it sharp. Feels like those torches from a long time ago, not like the fancy LED ones nowadays. My mistake, I thought it was LED when I bought it. If you like old school feel go for it.

They were shipped up here (Canada) in 9 days. Fast shipping. It's nice to have a back-up Mag Light around the house.
